I really enjoyed the reunion. Talked nonstop for about seven hours!
A few suggestions: since the Friday night function was better attended than the Saturday, why not make Friday the main night and Saturday the secondary night? It seems that many people might have had plans for this holiday weekend and that whereas they might have attended Friday night (and then gone elsewhere on Saturday) they just had to skip Saturday's main event.
Also: I don't think you need to have a DJ and dancing, and especially not ten years from now. Maybe karaoke, since we would have a chance to ham it up. But basically people wanted to talk. When the music started, the room got almost empty as people went out in the hall to talk.
I thought that the food was alright. However, I think it could be simpler, too. I think it would have been nice if the registration cost had included tickets for a couple of drinks. I'm not used to paying bar prices and I was kind of shocked to have to pay $5 for a bottle of beer.
Actually, you know what would be really nice? If the reunion party were held at someone's house. There will be fewer people ten years from now, and the registration money could go to food and drink and supplies so it didn't cost the host anything. I'd do it myself, if I had a house, and if the house were in Fargo!
Thanks so much to the organizers. It was very special for me to come back (it was my first time back in 20 years, and only the second in almost 40 years) and I appreciated the effort to get as many people as possible to attend and to provide an environment that worked.
