Boy, those were the days. Remember the polyester pants,
bell bottoms, saddle shoes, 1-piece green gym clothes, reverse role day with the admin., grub & dress-up day, etc..
It's funny to look back at all the old pictures.

Does any one know about www.sjv.net? There are web cams in Fort Kent of Main Street by the post office, Market Street with a box that measures how much snow has fallen & another camera at the top of the ski tow. Being so far away from home, I love going on it and seeing the wintry weather since we don't get the same type of winters here in Maryland..really neat. I went up to Fort Kent for an emergency family situation a couple years ago and my sisters and I stood in front of the Market Street camera while I phoned my husband & kids and told them I was on. They got to see us...I'm sure those of you that are still some what local probably wouldn't be interested but those who are quite a distance away or abroad, might!

We often go on the sjv.net site to see if it's snowing. Since we go up snowmobiling, it's nice to see if and when they get snow and how much. It's also nice just to look at it. I like the one overlooking the ski tow. It's so funny that you got in front of the camera and called your husband and kids to see you. We have thought about doing it too.

Hi Claire! So glad to see you on here and loving your participation on the forum. The snow Ft. Kent got last night...that boxed completely filled up and the view at the top of the ski tow, what a postcard!

It WAS funny a couple years when my sisters & I were in front of the Market Street camera (didn't any one see me?:)). It was November and freeeezing outside and I happened to have my Maryland sweatshirt on so as I'm on the phone with my husband standing in front of the camera, all he can say over & over again was "open up your jacket, open up your jacket" so Maryland would show as though we were on national live television. The excitement in his voice was hilarious considering there is quite a limited audience. Oooh, is it possible Tom Cruise or George Clooney may have seen me???

Gloria, I haven't looked at the cam lately but I'm sure my husband will be on this weekend since he is going up snowmobiling with friends next week. You are so funny. I can picture you in front of the cam. It gave me quite a chuckle.

I remember being a waitress at our Jr. Prom. One of the
glasses of punch that I handed someone came apart and the
punch spilt over him. Also, I ended up accidentally spill-
ing chips on the dance floor and you hear crunch, crunch,
crunch as people were dancing.

Did you know that Mr. Paul left Fort Kent and came to
Downeast ME to teach mathematics at UM Machias. He was
there for a number of years.

My greatest memory of high school was playing ping-pong
during study hall--especially playing against Alvin
Lamarre and always wanting to beat him. I played a lot of it in college too.

OK, guys....keep seeing the Y.M.O.T.R. thing turn up - in Paul, Jeff and Tim's profile or message forum....I remember vaguely hearing about that in high school, but don't remember what the acronym stands for....can one of you explain it, who was part of it and what else did you do besides cheech and chong cars??:):)

HI, I believe it stands for young men on the rise.

but one of the Ymtr guys will have to confirm that.

Where did everybody go?? :-) There HAS to be more to talk about!!

OK...I'm surprised Tim Daigle didn't tell the story of the time Lisa Dumond got into Cheryl Charette's vehicle, moved it so that the head lights were aiming at the lake where a few people were skinny dipping...and ended up hitting a tree. He will have to tell his version because it is quite comical.

Lisa Dumond (Collins)

"Moved the car so the head lights were aiming the people in lake???" I don't think so! At least not intentionally. I was moving the car so that I didn't have to back out of his driveway onto Sly Brook. Everyone was really quite intoxicated and I was afraid that if everyone was in the car they would have made me too nervous to turn the vehicle toward Sly Brook Road. I certainly did not want Cheryl's parents car to end up in the lake or down the embankment.. . . . instead, I hit a tree.

Here's a little trivia for you all.
Sister Julie's class 6th grade.
what were the 2 songs we sang for the spring concert???
She was the nicest nun next to Sister Margret and sister Claire. We were lucky we didn't have the nuns are older siblings had, they were allot meaner then.

Linda Pelletier (Majka)

You see how everybody has a different story...especially Tim Daigle. He states that the lights were on toward the lake and unfortunately for him he was blind as a bat without his glasses so he couldn't see a thing. Who were the other skinny dippers???
I for one was dressed...

Linda Pelletier (Majka)

Oh yeah, lisa, why were you driving Cheryl's vehicle?
Where was Cheryl?

02/08/09 08:29 PM #99

Lisa Dumond (Collins)

Tim's version he probably wishes the head lights were on him. :) Cheryl was there. We drove up to the lake that night to go swimming. The story is in my profile...why, when, and who was there, of course this is my version.

Susan Ouellette (Linehan)

I was there but can't remember where!!!! I know the 6th grade song "I Can See Clearly Now" but I don't remember clearly where I was that night :)!

Claire Morin (Dyer)

Okay I admit I was one of the swimmers. I believe Cheryl was swimming as well. I believe someone took our clothes while we were in the lake. Now who could that have been? That was a fun night, minus the accident. That sobered us up quite a bit.

02/09/09 08:25 PM #102

Donna M. Daigle (Pierce)

If I remember right, Cheryl got out of the water first and she and Lisa cooked up a plan to take our clothes and throw them in the vehicle and take off...when we got back to shore our clothes were gone! They thought they would scare us good, but their plans got cut short by Lisa hitting the tree...lesson learned = never skinny dip again!!

Gloria Bourgoin (Santarpia)

Gosh, there seems to have been so many of you there that night...I can't believe I never heard about it until Lisa posted it. Seems like it was QUITE a night and obviously a night to remember. Nonetheless, minus the car wreck, sure sounds like every one had a blast. That's what it's all about when you're a teenager! A great memory.

Ok Donna, I give up...I remember Sister Julie like yesterday and wish I could remember. Sue, not sure which way you're swaying on your comment on this...I Can See Clearly Now. Could apply to the spring concert OR that night if you really thought you could so not sure how to read it:). Donna, I'm impressed if you remember. PLEASE tell!

Actually I was in Sr. Ouida's class for 6th grade and we sang "I can see clearly now' but I do remember another class wanting to sing our song too...either Sr. Julie's or Mrs. Bouchard's class. I think we ended up singing together as a group.

Hello everybody, I am back was home for a couple of weeks. I woke dizzier as if I had drank a fifth or more, having never drank, it was a wicked feeling. Had medication precribed and went home to recover. I guess I am spoiled.

Glad to see you are feeling better. The message forum has been quiet since you were gone. Welcome back.

I'm going to hell. I could have never remembered our wonderful Nuns names; I only remember them as Sister Bulldog and Sister Tarzan. I'm going to hell. Honestly, they were the best Nuns I ever could have wished for.:0) You guys have memories like steel traps.

Harvey's car...what a hoot. I remember when it was spray painted a nice shiny black (before the joint went on.) We all stood back in amazement at how well it came out, then came the floor and deck enamel and paint brushes. Mark was responsible for the dube, the first time I painted it, he told me it looked like a football so he had to take over. I never realized it would take up both the driver and passengers side doors. We must have painted for 6 hours while Tim painted each lug nut on the wheels. WTH!!! we busted painting the whole thing while he "focused" on the lug nuts! Someone painted "Driver Intoxicated" on the door with an arrow pointing up at the driver....can't remember who did that, I was on my second six-pack at that time.

Here's another good car one. We ripped the hood ornament of Mark's car and put one of those pottery people's heads instead. You know, the one's Tim's mother had us make in class, one was on a motorcycle rider, one was a skier, another was a baseball player. We cut the head off, drilled out the eyes, nostrils, and mouth, but a light bulb in it and then drove at night with all the lights off except for the glowing head....I wonder what the folks up in St. Francis thought it was when they came driving by.

Bernice, with a car like THAT you never stood even a remote chance of passing your driver's license exam!!

Does anyone have a photo of these infamous cars? If so, they need to send it to Linda Pelletier to put in the slideshow! (See 30 Year Reunion on left column for more info)
