OK your Class of 69 guys, you have put it off as long as you can. It is time to make your commitment to join the guys for the 4th Annual “Boys Night Out Poker Game” This coming Saturday night, 1/10/15 at 6:30 PM.

Now let’s get a couple of things straight for you non-poker dudes.  But, you have to promise to not tell the girls.  There is a lot more lying and laughing than pokering that goes on.  This is only a “clever cover” for a bunch of graying Eagle guys to get out of the house and have a fun night together – well night may also be pushing it a bit; 6:30 to 8:30 is about all most of these guys can last.

So, mark your calendars for THIS SATURDAY. For our “Boys Night Out Poker Game” at the same location as last year, Tommie McDermid’s party planning & Jim Huck’s catering building located at 408 S. Farmers Market Rd. in Fort Pierce

So what you should bring is this;

  1. Bring a couple of rolls of quarters
  2. Bring what ever you want to drink - Beer, Cokes, Ice Tea Mylanta
  3. Tell other aging Eagles about the game. It does not matter if they are from the class of 70 - last year we had several from 69.

And while you are blocking out 1/10/15 why not swing by the same location at 3:30 that afternoon and sit in on the 45th Reunion Planning Session all is welcome.

Any questions call me at 321-223-9043.

It's with a heavy heart that I relate that Don Daniels passed away either overnight or this AM.  His son announced it on Facebook, and I have no details as of yet.

RIP Don.

The 4th Annual Boy’s Night Out Poker Game was the biggest and I believe the best yet.  For those of you who did not attend; shame on you.  I would like to give you all the juicy details but… “Those that don’t go, don’t know”.

Take a trip over to the website to see the photo;

I had a great time at the Class of 1970 Annual Poker Game.  Sure hope we can get a few more from the Class of 69 to attend next year.  Thanks for the invitation Richard.

Not sure how many of you remember him, but Mack Hubbard passed away on January 8, 2015 in Okeeechobee.  His obituary is on line with Yates Funeral home.  Don't know how far he made it in Dan McCarty, but I remember he was in our class at the Junior High School.

Hey Garry,

I will ask Tom Baumker if he has a picture of Bill's.  He has a picture of everything...including what he has for lunch everyday.   I'll let you know.

What's everybody been up to lately?  It's been awfully quiet on here.  Has anybody done anything of interest?  Heck, you can even tell us if you've done something totally stupid.  Maybe you'll get us to admit to doing something foolish too!  Can anybody yell  GO EAGLES!

Thanks for finding and posting this Garry.  So sad to hear this about Wayne.  I always wondered what had happened to him.

Hi Everyone!  As to the question, "what's everyone been up to?", Dave & I are overwhelmed with planning the 50th Annual Florida Indian Hobbyist Association Powwow.  Yep! 50 years right here in Ft. Pierce.  Dates are March 27-29 at the Savannas Recreation Area 1400 E. Midway Road.  Absolutely amazing how much work is involved in putting on something of this magnitude, but totally worth it!  So until April, we have no life!  Check out the Facebook page - FIHA Powwows

Tena

I have to admit that I have never made it to the Pow Wow.  I have always meant to do so and have no excuse since I live in Indian River Estates.  Seems like I remember your husband was a member of the OA (Order of the Arrow) in Boy Scouts.  I'm sure that is where he got his love of indian lore.  Keep us informed, I would love to make it over this year and have the experience.  Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Class,

In case you didn't get my email.  Someone has gotten the email list from the class and is sending bulk mailings of a virus.  DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK.  It asks if you saw this on Oprah.  Be careful or these people will be in your computer.

Thanks and be careful with all email,

  Tommy

I really wanted to thank all of you for the wonderful birthday wishes recently.   I haven't been logging on here often enough lately, and for that I want to apologize!   My daughter Christa, who is 30, presented me with my very first grandchild, Wyatt Joseph King, on December 2, 2014, so I am head over heels in love.   I know many of you have had this experience much sooner than I did!  My son Craig is 26, and he is engaged and will be married in June 2016.   My life is wonderful and I'm truly blessed to be living in the paradise that is Fort Pierce!

Thanks Richard,

I'm sure you noticed in my email that I have invited the rest of the class to take their turn at that column.  Surely they remember a lot more than I did about our time together.  In the first place, I didn't pay much attention in school anyway.  I was the type to skip out across the street when there was a pep rally or an assembly.  Plus I lived way out Orange Avenue Extension (back before it was "cool" to live out there) and getting to town for things like the bon fire at the burning of the Indian were sometimes hard to get a ride too.  Not to mention I was more into playing music than anything else in those days.  Thanks Again.
