I am not sure I feel old I think it's the idea that I remember my parents at my age, and wayyyyyy back then I thought they were old. Now that I am here it's just another level of consciencness hahahah so to say.

Kudos to those that can keep up with the younger crowd that is so spectacular. I chase after my granddaughter here and I am loving that. When we don't have snow we usually hit the state park and walk the trails. I will be going to have surgery again on my shoulder. In 2006 I tore the rotator cuff going onto the ward through the large heavy doors, that hurt. Last April a client grabbed me as I was coming onto the unit, he was trying to escape, which pulled all the muscles in, yes that same arm. 12/19 I pulled the chart rack we use over to me and the wheel feel off and the rack and all 15 charts fell on me. I start therapy tomorrow 1/2 to see if that kills me I guess. Then I will get an MRI to see how much damage there is, sounds like the cart before the horse or however you say that. You know you have to jump through the hoops. The believe that the rotator cuff may be torn again and definely the ACL is damaged. Yep same arm. That makes 3. So I hope I have this done before I come down in June. That will give me time to recoup. Well thats my story and I am sticking to it. My pop has been gone now for 5 years. Mom still celebrated their 67 year anniversary today. She is still a tough ol' bird, for those of you who remember her. I am so much like her too. I am wishing all of you have a wonderful 2009. Happy Holidays my friends.
Jackie

Hello Classmates, I am happy to report that the story of my demise has been retracted. I am in fact, thrilled to see pictures and hear about all of you. I have so many wonderful memories of DMHC. I have thought of all of you so often. I remember that Jackie and I were among the tallest girls in school.By the way, I still hate basketball, even though I was always chosen in gym!
I'm hoping with all my heart to hear from ALL of you.I don't know if I can make it to the reunion. If it's a choice between that and seeing my ailing Dad then he wins. I'll know more as the year progresses !

Patty you are so funny. We always got picked. I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, still can't. I like bounce ball the best. Does anyone know how many of our teachers are still around. I would like to know that. Slowly but surely stuff is coming back to me.

Does everyone remember the prom.

Who were you with and where did you go to dinner?

I went with Ernie Rusakis family friend (I didn't have a boyfriend hahahahah)and went to Francis Langfords for dinner. It was a short night. Gawd I hope that was his name hahahahah

Hi Jackie,
Yeah, I don't remember who I went to prom with, but I remember how the gym looked, "moonlight and roses" was the theme. We went the the Sunrise theatre after, they gave seniors a free pass to see "georgie girl".
I left Florida in about 73, so I have no idea what happened to any of the teachers. I do remember what I thought SHOULD have happened to some of them!! Mr.West leaps to mind ! Hey remember Miss Spencer? Oh and Mr. Diggs ( My favorite history teacher ). I remember when Mr. Boyd let all of us handle a piece of mercury, I don't know can you call a ball of mercury a piece? Anyway, allott of girls had rings ruined handling the stuff? so here we are 40 years later, no I don't think they even let mercury in classrooms Now ! You know if you think about all of it now, No seat belts, open bon-fires,
people actually carried around cash. Hey people we're damn lucky to have survived!! Oh and I worked in the cafeteria so I know !!!!

I definitely remember my junior prom night. I went with a senior and I thought I was hot stuff. It was so exciting to be allowed to stay out all night even though I am sure that my Dad was close around checking on me. I certainly had lots of great memories, but love where I am today. Rick and I are having a wonderful time! It is great fun being married to a classmate because we can swap stories anytime we want. My best to everyong.

Hi all,
Hope your surgery goes well Jackie and you're recovered for June. You and Patty were the tallest but I think Jo and I were the among the shortest. I liked basketball couldn't hit the hoop but sure did a good job of keeping everyone else from taking easy shots. I liked bounce ball also, you sure could smack that ball Jackie. Volleyball was good too. Gosh, Patty all those teacher names and working in the cafeteria brings back memories.
Trust everyone had good time and was well over the holidays. I'll be seing you all in June.

Vicki, Ms Raccoon Lady, you were so popular. I couldn't wait to see your bite marks. You were so brave. hahah Hell of a way for us to remember each other. haha

It's funny how much you really forget then someone jogs your memory and it kind of all comes back, in bits and pieces. Do you remember Ms. McIntyre, blahhhhhh what a crab.

I just wanted peace all the time except when Jimmie Anne and I got into a pine cone fight. How old were we Jimmie Anne? I think that our sisters encouraged that one. We still were great friends though.

Hi Jackie, Sorry to hear about all your trouble with your rotator cuff! I had mine operated on a few years ago and got back about 90% range of motion. What do you do?

Surgery was fine but I thought that the therapists were going to kill me. My year was up March of 08 and in April of 08 I had a client grab me and tore a tendon. While that was mending, by the way in the same arm, about 5 months after that I had a big chart rack fall on me, same arm. Man I thought I was on the countdown for sure. So now I am sporting a burst tendon. Gotta have that taken care of after the reunion. Therapist are still killing me. I am so glad I am a tough ol bird, as my mother would say. I had 80% before the tendon burst. He said its a quicky surgery he just goes in and ties a bow in the tendon. Whatever, hahahaha. On March 10 I was coming onto the unit and stepped in but my foot stayed and well I tore my meniscus and acl. It's a mess. I will have that taken care of when I get back too. The only problem now is packing on the the ol weight. Oh well _ _ _ _ happens. I still have a great sense of humor. I can't wait to see everyone.

Jackie

When I went to the 1999 class reunion I could not believe North Beach. Everything looked so different. We really had a great life back then. I think we were sheltered from all the bad stuff in the word unless we were just too busy to stop and think about perverts. I know I use to ride my bike everywhere. I even rode it down to Cortez to play with Debbie Sears. Her parents had a T-bird that was awesome. I think the coolest thing was the motorcycle that Jimmie Anne's dad had with the side car. Pinewood park, yeah good memories there. Does anyone remember the circus camp down at the community center in Fort Pierce. I remember learning the trapese and doing tricks on the bicycle built for 5. Amazing I am not in one piece hahahah

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm up early waiting for a friend to go exercise. I don't think it does me a lot of good, but...try, try, try.
Beverly Bolton is staying with Jim and I in Vero. She's flying in from Arizona, where her folks moved the family immediately after DMHS graduation. She has the distinct privilege of sharing a bathroom on her visit with my elderly mom. We'll still have a great time anyway! She wants to make a side trip to the Kennedy Space Center.
I have my own health story to tell. Jackie. Five years ago I had a tumor in my jaw. I went to the University of Miami, maxiofacial chief surgeon, and had over two inches of my jaw replaced with titanium. My x-rays look like I have a bicycle chain in my mouth, but after a second reconstruction everything is pretty good. I had to go down for an annual check yesterday and boy do those interns look so young and cute, but nervous.
I'm so appreciative to Jimmie Anne for all the work on this fabulous website. Hoorah for Eagles! Carol Bronson Fowler

Jacki, Please be careful or you are going to be in pieces when you get to Fla. Last year I don't know what I did but had some severe back/neck/shoulder pain, thought I had just slept wrong. Went to Dr. found out I have degenerative disc disease of C 4-5. Luckily they were not bulging,on meds for about a month. Doing well for the past 7 mos. Then I was walking up the step bringing in grocery tripped and fell head first into the framing around the front door. Needless to say had a concussion, but recovered nicely. A few weeks later bought another car decide to wash and wax it on Sunday afternoon, and somehow not sure how but aggravated the same disc in my neck only this time. Much better now but taking it easy for the next few weeks. I guess my body is trying to convince my brain I not as young as I use to be, I am not just not ready to sit in the rocker on the porch yet. I still have to much get up and go in me, although that is a long drive to Fort Pierce, need to be on top of my game for that, even with a relief driver. Can hardly wait I am so looking forward to the reunion and sometime away from NC.
