Paul - Mellott - Loving and devoted husband, son, brother, uncle and a longtime South Lyon resident, Paul Allen Mellott passed to eternal life at his home on October 30, 2019 at the age of 65. Paul was born on November 29, 1953 in Middleton, Ohio to Lewis W. Mellott and Louise A. Fink Mellott. Paul grew up in Franklin, Ohio and attended Franklin High School where he graduated in 1971. Paul moved to South Lyon right after graduating from High school in 1971. Paul was married to the love of his life, Jody H. Steele Mellott for 39 years. Paul was a skilled carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union. During his career, he designed and built several beautiful custom wood furnishings. Paul owned his own business including "Mellott Custom Homes and C.C.A. (Computer Communications Alliance". Paul owned C.C.A. for 16 years, a computer service company located in South Lyon Michigan. He provided quality service to the community and placed a huge emphasis on helping the elderly. Paul loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and was an enormous sports fan. Paul played softball and basketball supporting the South Lyon community. The one sport that he loved to play the most was golf. Paul was very committed to playing golf on a routine bases. He enjoyed the many tournaments and was a great golfer. He achieved two "hole-in-one" award/plaques during his golf career. Paul always looked forward to the weekly card games with the "boys". Most of all he enjoyed the great friends that he met and cherished along the way. Paul was very outgoing and always had a jolly affect for others. Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Jody H. Steele Mellott, father Lewis W. Mellott, and mother Louise A. Fink Mellott, father-in-law James Henry Steele, sister Mary Ellen Mellott Cheeseman, and bothers John W. Mellot, William R. Mellott and James M. Mellott. He is survived by his mother-in-law Joan L. Campbell Steele, his sister Patricia L. Mellott Keen and brother Ronald L. Mellott and his wife Sharon Mellott, his 2 sister-in-laws and their spouses Vicky and Pat Carducci and Vivian and Andy Green and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The "love of" Paul's spirit will remain in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know him. A memorial service will be held on November 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Phillips Funeral Home in South Lyon MI, burial to follow immediately after memorial service at the South Lyon Cemetery.
