I attended and graduated from Duke University in 1969. I then was in the Army. I then taught school and coached in Winston-Salem and Fayetteville for about 7 years. I then was in business with my brother in Greensboro for one year. I then attended and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill Law School in December, 1981 and passed the bar in February, 1982. I moved to Smithfield in Johnston County and began the practice of law. After private practice, I was a District Attorney for 22 years befor being appointed a District Court Judge in February, 2007 and have been re-elected two times. I moved up the road in Johnston County to Clayton where I still reside with my family. My son is in college at UNC-C in the School of Architecture. I have two stepchildren and two granddaughters.

Happy Birthday! I go to Sanford now every week as a judge. Remember our first try----did not make it there on the bench then but have been judge now for ten years. Ride by your old business every time and think of you. Thanks again for what you did then. Dale Stubbs
