Was
"Simply The Best!"

Before the 'Big 30'

In Memory & Nostalgia table
The Lakeview Banquet room was full of
smiling faces, laughter and a gift of gathering
that many will cherish a very long time...
... a special time in all of our lives.

This time of year always reminds us of:
Fall, fun and family, football, World Series,
It also reminded us of how warm Dallas is and
how cold Maria was!
And yet, how warm she looked in her coat...

Great to see 'Wild Bill'

From the heart & pen on "Regarding the Reunion"

  • The friends I had from childhood and high school will always be the closest to me. There is something about having that long of a history with someone that holds a kind of intimacy that is unique. It was a time of pure relationships, without all the hassles of adult life. We had fun. ~ Karen Pulfer (Focht)
  • Thank you for the invitation to your 30th.  Unfortunately I have a previous commitment and will be out of town that weekend.  Here is hoping you, and all, have a great weekend with old friends and classmates. ~ Rich Gregory

  • Counting the days now to the reunion, and I can't wait!
Why am I coming to the reunion?
Because High school reunions enable us to look at the past,
reflect on the fun we once had, and make us wonder, as the years have scurried by,
why we didn't keep in touch with more of our high school "pals".
I love being taken back to a time, when life was carefree and reminds us of those teenage days, when we
didn't worry about the future, and didn't know what was yet to come!
Seeing people from the past, that we once saw every day,
brings back that special bond of those that we shared experiences with, that linked us together.
GBS was one of the best times of my life...
those days that I will always remember...
and they are the days that started me on the road of who I have become! I can't wait to see everyone there! ~ Sherie S. Thomas
  • Thanks, it sounds like a great deal of fun.  It might be a bit of a stretch, coming from northwest Arkansas, but I'll see what I can do.  Keep me in the loop.
~ Mike Lyons - Social Studies
  • Can't wait! ~ Lauren Brill
  • Thanks for all you're doing to bring us together!! ~ Dave Stark Luna.
  • Let me know where we need help. Looking forward to the reunion! ~ Mike Nolan
  • Looking forward to seeing everyone! ~ DeAnne Miresse Frank
  • There is something to be said about old (but not old!) friends, who knew you during the formative years, chatted often with your parents, and watched you set off to pursue your dreams.  There are a handful of high school friends that I have kept in touch with through the years who are truly like family to me.  There are also those who I haven't seen much over the years but still think about often. Reunions are a great place to reconnect. ~ Linda (Smith) Travis

  • Don and I can't wait to see everyone again ~ Don & Ann (O'Grady) Ventura

  • Looking forward to the gathering of classmates who are now scattered all over the world. I am looking forward to seeing old friends and catching up on all of our busy lives. I encourage all '78 classmates to come together and share in the wonderful weekend festivities. Regards, ~ Theresa (De Carli) Schilling
  •  We are looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the entire weekend of treasured fun, laughter and fond memories ~ Dale & Janis (Johnson) Hurst
  • Thanks for all the work the reunion committee has been doing to make the reunion a success! I'm looking forward to attending. The web site is fun to browse too. See you in October ~ Carol (Foote) Kilbride
  • Hello everyone,
Looking forward to the gathering of classmates who are now scattered all over the world. I am looking forward to seeing old friends and catching up on all of our busy lives. I encourage all '78 classmates to come together and share in the wonderful weekend festivities.

  • I just wanted to say hi to all my "old" friends.
This year we are having our 30th Class reunion, as usual our class is running a bit late.

I personally missed the 20th for personal reasons and have regretted it for the last 10 years.  I wouldnt want to miss this one and have regrets for another 10. Please join me in attending and we can all have a blast and remember some of the good old days. ~ Steven Goodman
  • Thanks for all your efforts toward this! ~ Jodi Sherman
  •
  • To the Class of 1978:
The time is getting really close for the big day.  We need your help to find more classmates.  A lot of people are working vigorously at this time.
We need MORE HELP!  Everyone that knows someone, try to find at least 2 more classmates and then they can find 2 more.
The more we put this out, the better the outcome will be.  The more the merrier!
    LETS HAVE SOME FUN!
Cheers and have a great weekend! Go Packers and #4, ~ David Janschutz

  • Can't Wait! ~ Debbie (Kirsh) Sullivan

  • I'm sending in the mail tomorrow four programs on one DVD.  The programs feature
Dr. Schreiner, Mama Glass, John Davis and Doug Kornelly. I hope you find them useful.  Good luck with your reunion!
    ~ Mark Ferguson GBS Broadcasting
  • I am planning on attending and I'm really looking forward to it!~ Larry Faulkner Tennis Coach, Marketing, Technology
  • Looking forward to it! ~ Dave Nettleton
  • I am very excited for our upcoming reunion and I cannot wait to see old friends.  I actually found an 8x14 picture from our 20 year reunion and I counted 136 in the two pictures.  I know that we can do much better than that. I live in Colorado and already have my airline ticked booked to be back in Glenview for the weekend.
I also plan to commandeer my father’s 1970 Red Cougar Convertible so that our class can participate in the parade.  If you have access to a convertible and want to participate as well (we can also have many walk as well) please get in touch with me.
If you have not already gone to the website and signed up to confirm your reservation please do so ASAP.  I look forward to seeing all of you and rekindling some old friendships.~ Mike Novick

Why did you Attend YOUR ‘Thirtiest’ Reunion Weekend?

Did you attend to:

Nostalgically reminisce about your old school days,
Fondly remember your Teachers, Staff, Para-pros, sports,
plays, musicals, school pranks and many other memories;
The reunion weekend is about one thing, people,
and the people were YOU!

Par-take in our Golf Outing, unless it gets cancelled!
Ride in or watch the Homecoming parade,
Gather in the cafeteria one more time for fun,
Join us as we toured GBS and to watch the 'Big Game',
Follow up on those conversations over brunch as we bid farwell

Bring others up to date on what has happened to you
Find out about them since everyone went their separate ways,

Take part in the celebration of those in memoriam,
(unfortunately put on hold due to decible levels in the room)
So Mama doesn't "Wash you in the river and hang you on the line!"
Reunite with one another one more time!

We are at this time in our lives between our future and our past.
life has a way of passing us by without letting us know.
Time is the one thing you can never get back.
Once it is past, it is gone, it all goes by so fast,
Come and rekindle those flames of memory, if only for a while.
Opportunity is knocking...now open the door!

Receive a gift of 'Gathering' that will last you a lifetime
After all, these decennial reunions don’t come along every day,
And quite frankly, we may not get another chance,
Be at a reunion that will be the best one yet,
Attend a special time in our lives with some very special people,

You!
