Hey guys!

Sorry I haven't been around much but I've been spending most of my days either reclining or laying flat. I finally got around to bringing the notebook computer upstairs so I can log on every now and then while I'm up walking around.

It's been two weeks since the surgery and I have a follow-up with the doctor tomorrow. Aside from a little pain when my drugs wear off I'm doing ok. The doctor originally said it would take 6 weeks to recover fully but I hope he releases me to drive tomorrow and lets me go back to work.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Randy

Randy Glad you are able to start moving around again. Barbara, thanks for the kind words. It's amazing what a good camera and someone who know how to use it can do for a (poor) subject!
I hope everyone is doing fine!

Hi Randy and all!

Randy, I hope you're on a speedy road to recovery! I've heard back surgery can be a nasty thing! I can relate to back problems as I have suffered for years with disc issues but I'm prolonging the inevitable surgery as long as I can. Take care, be patient with your recovery and listen to your doctor! :)

Hey guys,

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers on Sunday as I am running my 2nd half marathon -the Shamrock in Va Beach. 13 miles gets tedious, especially at our age...haha! Experience tells me that I won't be able to move around well the next day and will look like a 90 yr old and like I need a walker! But somehow, it is still fun, go figure. Thanks!

Congrats, Grandpa!! I know you and Angie are excited to add another little person to the family to spoil! Neither of you look old enough to be grandparents, so age is treating you well.
Hope to see you guys soon.

Carol,
I have three words for you...YOU GO GIRL!!!
I can't even imagine running down to the corner of my street. I think that is so awesome that you run marathons. I wish you luck and I hope you win!!!

PaPa Fulp,
CONGRATULATIONS on the grandbaby news!!! I know you and Angie will be so thrilled to have another "little one" to love and spoil. I'm so happy for you both.

Randy,
I hope you are mending nicely and getting stronger every day. Mind your doctor!!!

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't been around here much but with the pain meds everytime I think about logging in here by the time I get the computer up I forgot where I was going (hehe).

I've gotten so LAZY from laying around all day that it's hard trying to get back in the groove. I still have some recovering to do but at this stage I'm supposed to be walking more and tapering off the meds. I go back to the doctor April 20th for a final check-up and to talk about whatever kind of therapy he wants me to do. Aside from not being able to tie my own shoes I'm getting around ok.

Carol, how did the marathon go? It was last Sunday, right? Did you run over anybody?

Gary, you're right about the years going by faster. I just keep reminding myself it's better than the alternative. Btw thanks for calling and telling me about your own back surgery... nice to know I'm not growing old alone. ;)

I'll be shooting out a class e-mail soon about getting ideas for the next 'reunion'. I've already talked to Gigi about it and she's excited about having everyone over here again if that's what you guys decide you want to do. Talk to you all soon!

Enoyed the visit Randy, and I look forward to you being able to get around, and get out for the group lunch soon. Gary, I know you must be a proud (old) grandad!
I spoke to Carol the other day and she said that once the ankle, knee, and hip replacements heal she will be ready for the next race! Ha just kidding. That girl is a healthy runnin machine!!!!!
To those of you that don't write, and just read.....please write! It's nice to be able to keep up and know what is happening with you. Don't forget...Big Brutha..Randy(admin) is watching and he will fuss if you don't put something down. It's also cyber-voyuerism(sp) and tha's kinda creepy! Keep it all Face to face;-)! It's more fun that way...okay I'll stop now...back to songwriting...
Peace!

Randy, I'm glad to here you are progressing nicely in your recovery! Barbara, thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Joey, we will talk....haha. The race went well, over 18,000 people participated over 2 days in an 8k, half marathon (13.1mi) and marathon (26.2mi). In my race-half marathon- there were about 6000. I did improve my time 25 min over the last race - which means I went from real slow to just plain ol slow!

Just to let everyone know, Bobby Bailey's Aunt Barb (she lived with them while he was growing up and was a kind of a surrogate mom) is very ill and has been in the hospital. Joey keeps in touch with Bobby and I'm sure will let everyone know how we can offer support to Bobby and his family.

I look forward to our next get together, thanks to Gigi for being so open. Randy you really lucked out!

Since Mary already provided the birthday song I'll just say "ditto". HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RANDY! Thanks again for providing this great resource. I hope everyone is well. Randy, I hope you're getting back to normal.

Look for me on TV Monday night. I'll be at the NCAA Final. My in-laws got tickets and my mother-in-law decided she really didn't want to go. Yippee for me. I hope the Heels make it to the final game. Ford Field (where the final four is being played) is only about 40 minutes from where I live. I'll post some pictures. I'll be the little speck of Carolina Blue in the middle of the throng of green and white Spartan fans. If the Heels and the Spartans play in the final it will be bedlam around here. I was on Franklin Street the night Carolina won it in 1982 and I don't think it will compare to that. If Mich State wins I'll never hear the end of it from my father and sister-in-law since they are both State grads.

I've enjoyed reading the message forum postings. I'll try to be more involved and not just a "voyeur". Speaking of which, don't you wonder what JPA was doing lurking on the streets of downtown Greensboro in that long coat. I shudder to think what might have transpired. I can think of some suitable Fireman references, but I'll leave that for the imagination. On that note, I take my leave. Best wishes to everyone. GO HEELS!!!

Terry and all friends from LJH,
I love your analogy of Joey in the long coat! Plus, I will say again, Happy Birthday, Randy! Hope you have a great one!

I need to post a picture and a profile update, but am hopelessly techno-challenged. Anyone willing to show or tell me how? I am so old, it is not funny!
Miss all of you,
Mary

It saddens me to let you all know that Bobby Bailey's "Aunt Barb" died this afternoon after an extended illness. There will be no actual funeral service, but there may be a visitation at the funeral home. I haven' received the information yet, but will get the information out to you as soon as I do.
Please keep Bobby and the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Bobby's Aunt Barb's visitation will be at Hanes Lineberry at Sedgefield from 3 to 5 pm. If you would like to go by he home afterwards to visit, the directions will be at the funeral home.
Please go a support him if you can.

Thanks for the news. Since I can't be there I'd be ever so grateful if someone would tell him I said hello and that I'm thinking about him. I'll go to the Hanes-Lineberry website and see if they have a place to leave condolences. It's nice to have these updates about what is going on with everyone. Thanks for posting.

Martha Matthews! What a nice surprise!

I think all we need now is Keith Linebaugh and the 'Walker Avenue Rat Pack' will be complete. :)

Welcome to the site, and hope you can make it to the next 'reunion'. ;)

Sup everyone!
Randy I think Keith's last name is Lineback. I won't swear to it but maybe I'm right this time.
Marth, it's good to see you on this site, and look forward to all of us getting together again.

Joey,

You're probably right about Keith's last name. Do you remember the name of the brothers that lived next door to Martha? Was it "Johnson"? All I remember was that they always had an old go-cart sitting out in the yard.
