I miss you guys! I wish I could have seen Keith on the 22nd, but that is the day my family had our Thanksgiving feast here in Charlotte.

Joey, I wish I could have seen your band play. It must have been awesome!

Mr Stowe did not remeber Barbara? He probably would have remembered me, since I was caught smoking in front of the school with Becky G.! Who used to go with me to Leo's Fried Chicken during lunch and get french fries? Yes, I know we weren't supposed to go, but we did anyway. Dang, those fries were good!

Happy Holidays to all!

Hey guys, I have vacation during Christmas and can come up anytime btn 20th and New Years. Is it possible to plan a get together during the holidays? Hopefully Keith, Tim and Lawrence will be around and with notice Sarah and Mary can come up. Maybe we can con Joey and ABCND for a private concert! Randy, I nominate your place again, it was perfect......

Hey Carol,

Gigi and I have 3 family functions to wrestle with Christmas week starting on the 24th (her family, my family and my extended family on my mom's side), so it's going to be a pretty hectic week for us. Besides, depending on the weather it can get quite chilly in the basement even with a fire going.

Maybe we could plan a dinner for anybody who wants to sign up, and if it's not too cold come over here afterward and hang out a while (?). I haven't gotten any messages from anyone since you posted the idea, so I have a feeling most of the others already have plans too.

I love the idea of having ABCND come over sometime and play a private gig, but it'd probably be best to wait for nicer weather. What say to rest of you? Any takers on a dinner date maybe the weekend after Christmas?

Hey Randy, Thanks for the feedback. I think whatever works for everyone is great. I do understand the holidays are a bit hectic... Sorry to impose-I may be a bit selfish wanting to get together when I have more time off and can travel. If you and Gigi had not been such great hosts!! I look forward to hearing what ever anyone else wants to do.

You're not being selfish OR imposing... don't think that! :)

I talked to Joey yesterday and I'm hoping we can work something out for the weekend after Christmas. Don't worry.. we'll figure out something. ;)

Merry Christmas everybody, and a Happy New Years.

May all your dreams and wishes come true, and may you all find what you want in life if you haven't already. Find out what makes you truly happy and grab hold of it with both hands and never let go... life is way too short for anything less. ;)

Hey!
Well I finally found the "elusive" Bobby Bailey! He is in a transitional period and does not have internet yet. As soon as he does he will put his mark on this fine site for everyone to see.

Barbara Bowles (Armeniox)

Hey!

Same here...

I made contact with Phyllis Raynor but she doesn't have internet right now. She will contact me when she does and I'll start her up on our Lindley site.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Bobby's in a "transitional period"? Does that mean he'll be "Roberta" next time we see him? :p

Howdy! Just thought that I'd post something. Hmmmm... well, some might know that I recently moved to Asheville after spending the past 20 years on the west coast. It's only been a few weeks and I have a lot to do in order to get settled... hoping to catch up with many of you over the course of this year.

Still have family in GSO so I will be looking people up as time permits. Meanwhile, I wish everyone a great 2009!

Hey Billy, good to hear from you! Your name came up over Christmas when I was visiting Jerry Cheek, George and Frances. My mom lives across the corner from them and we have been friends for years. Keep in touch, the group is growing for the next reunion!

Hi all!

After feeling like I have been caught with my "hands in the cookie jar", thanks to Randy's little message about sneaking in and out of this website without leaving a mark, I thought I would make ammends and leave a message earlier this afternoon. No sooner had I actually began to post something, my 12 year old daughter (Madison) came in to me to show me her injured toe from horsing around with her 15 year old brother (Kyle). It was all sorts of lovely dark colors and swollen. I spent the next few hours sitting at A&E (Britain's term for hospital Emergency Room) and, sure enough, she had fractured her toe. To her disappointment, she didn't require crutches.

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays and are doing well. We are all very well, with the exception of one fractured toe of course, and looking forward to tomorrow's inauguration. We are having British friends over to our house tomorrow afternoon for an "Inauguration Party" as we watch the ceremony on CNN International. You wouldn't believe the intense European news coverage of the campaign and his inauguration. Europe is thrilled to see Obama elected to office and has high hopes for a bright future through his efforts. Go USA!

Bill H. - welcome back to the east coast! What brought you to Asheville? We lived in Asheville 9 months before coming to England. We still own our home in Biltmore Park and, thankfully, have it rented out to a nice family.

We'll probably be leaving England by the end of July so we're trying to cram a few more travel adventures in before our "European Vacation" ends. We have tickets to see the Eagles at the NIA in Birmingham July 8th but I'm really looking forward to seeing Elton John at Holkham Hall on the Norfolk coast June 14th. I've seen EJ a couple of times (long ago) but it'll be cool to see him in England. Yes, I still love the EJ tunes!

Love to all!
Becky :)

Hiya Becky!

Funny you mentioned Elton John. I just bought his "Here and There" double set off Amazon's MP3 download site Saturday. I used to have it on LP but that disappeared YEARS ago. If you happen to run across Jace Everett's first CD over there let me know... I'm looking for his first cut of "Bad Things". Amazon.com shows it as a discontinued (Import), which means it's probably still available in either Japan or Great Britain somewhere.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I'm hoping for an early Spring myself. ;)

01/26/09 01:02 PM #80

Becky Gugelman (Haynes)

Hi Randy!

Well, though I'm not familiar with Jace Everett, I went online and it appears to be possibly available through a couple of places. I'll see if I can check it out in person tomorrow!

Cheers!
Becky :)

Hey Bro
Spoke to Bobby the other day. He is looking for us to put together another "opportunity" for the Lindley folks to get together. We'll talk soon. Hey how bout those new storage units across the street!

01/26/09 03:33 PM #82

Randy Melton

Ya,

Nothing like some nice self-storage units in the neighborhood to raise property values! (insert sarcasm here ;)

Not going to go too deep here, but I think it speaks VOLUMES that even in this economy (worst since the great depression by some standards), that there's still a market for people to store all the extra crap they don't have room for at home. We have to be the richest poor country in the world! :)

01/26/09 08:13 PM #83

Carol Mabe (Batchelor)

Hey, remember George Carlin's skit about a "place for my stuff"? I saw him in Vegas about 8 or so years ago. Every one needs a place for their stuff!

02/17/09 08:40 AM #84

Joey Armeniox

Yeah some people have to add on to their houses to have a place for all the stuff they have....wait a minute!...Did I do that?

Carol Mabe (Batchelor)

Hey everyone,

Lets wish Randy a speedy recovery from back surgery last week. I know he will bounce back soon. You're in my thoughts and prayers buddy!

03/05/09 03:22 PM #86

Joey Armeniox

Hey all you classmates! Just checking in. I hope everyone is having a great day!

03/12/09 12:38 AM #87

Barbara Bowles (Armeniox)

Randy,

I hope your surgery went well. If your doctor advises stretches and exercise, definitely do them. I've known three people who have had back surgery and they say that part really helps.

Here's to a speedy recovery!

P.S. Did you quit smoking?
