Susan Hughes (McCarty)

mike quick - you are the best! thanks for the compliments, and i am so glad you are coming to the reunion. I had planned to give your number out to the inmates if you didn't post soon, and tell them you could get them out of jail, just call you at home after midnight! You are the last person in the world i would want to be mean to, but i really wanted you to come to the reunion.

About the destruction of Sue Stevens room. Remember our punishment. Subtract one from 10,000 and add two to it until you got to zero! If it wasn't for Mary Pryor's mother calling Coach Dunaway and explaining that was a very harsh punishment, I feel I would still be subtracting one from 10,000 and adding two to it TODAY! Be sure and read Bob Stein's post about Sue Stevens!

You, Mosow and Bonehead were the life of our class at Solomon. When Ricky's eye's started sparkling, and you and BOnehead were around, the rest of us justed waited for the fun to begin!

I called our esteemed Tax Collector, and she said you didn't have to pay land or auto taxes anymore. SHe didn't realise just how close we are!

Scooter - Please let Billy know the McCartys have him on our prayer list. Mrs. Simpson was a very sweet and nice lady.

Let's all keep Jerry Brown in our prayers.

When our preacher asked for prayer requests Sunday, I could hardly get Frank's name out of my mouth, I got so choked up. The ties that have bound us all together for 40 years remain strong, whether we hung around together or we didn't - every single one of us make up the Class of 1969, and I am proud to be a part of it!

Billy,
I am so sad to learn of your mother's death. I loved her so much. I worked with her for many years at The Kings Daughter Hospital and she was a great, compassionate, loving and caring nurse. If you needed an IV fluids she was the best and never missed your veins. When she retired it was a big loss to the medical community. She was the old fashion TLC nurse one of the greatest. Yes, God has prepared a special place for her. I will see you Thursday. Give my regards to Melissa.

Donnie, Love the new pictures.

Patricia, The pictures of your family are wonderful. Love the Strazi's article and pics.

Debra, Susie and Bubba's grandchildren are beautiful.

Marilyn and Susan, I love reading ya'll posts.

Susan: You know I love you even with a husband that knocks horses off their feet or hoofs.

Scooter: Sorry about Billy's mom. I was just about to post a funny about Billy, Harry R. and myself at muni golf course. It can wait. Will call Billy in the morning. I thought it was a great picture of Billy on your profile, yours was good too. Got any pics of ole Harry!!

Geo. Sherman: You were too sharp on the three nuts picture. We don't care, young son in Oxford sold three condos after win in Cotten bowl. After Ole Miss baseball goes to World Series, might sell some more!!

Kenny: Thanks for the sock support with Randy B. I came from Memphis in the 7th grade. When I got to G'ville I noticed these funny shoes on the boys, I called them Greenville Loafers, but later had a pair myself. They showed your socks off so well.

Jane - i love reading your posts, too! I am really looking forward to seeing you at the reunion, and I have a confession to make to you. I lost the letter, if you remember what I am talking about.

Please save me 1/2 dozen hot tamales from Doe's Friday night. I can remember Daddy getting Momma's big pot, and riding down to Nelson Street, and getting that pan filled up with hot tamales.........when we would sit down to eat them my Daddy would say, "I wonder what the po folks are eating tonight?"

Susan/Chad and all the Doe's hot tamale lovers:
Reminds me of my father-in-law big Joe Sherman (Popi) and an absolute saint of a man whom we lost last October. We'd go to Greenville and sometimes head to pick up hot tamales at Does. He would say " You got to take one of my coffee cans 'cause it saves 50 cents when you bring your own." He couldn't believe we'd spend extra for Doe's coffee cans! Those Sherman men were wise:)

George.. It also reminds me of Uncle George and the matches!!

Mike Quick..Great to see you on here. Remember 'Garanimals'. Those were those matching tops and bottoms some of the kids wore. You were ahead of your time:)

Martha/Jane/Nancy/Patricia..Love all the St. Joe pics
I still can't believe Strazi's closed in 1970!!

Susan..We used up all the sun..Sorry:) MPA

Mike Quick........I seem to remember a incident with somebody's harmonica......or rather what was left of it....some of us just could not appreciate 'the arts'. When looking back, I am still amazed that you could put salt and pepper in the same room and actually, not only get good flavor but build a real relationship. Can't wait to visit. Just got back from alumni Meeting.......Nutt was Great!

Billy Simpson.......I loved your Mom and she was always so kind. Many a Sunday we would visit in the balconi at church. She is sorely missed. You are in our prayers....

High Water at Yacht Club....Class ReUnion Committee meets Tuesday night to decide about subtitute location for Friday night and will keep everyone posted ASAP after meeting.

Lynn - congrats on the new grandbaby... she is just beautiful!!!!

Just a quick note about hot tamales, Doe's are really good but I think the best ever were those made by Chris Shapley's dad. They will be greatly missed by those of us who have had the privilege. And Chris, don't forget to bring Melanie!!!

Brenda, beautiful family!!

And to all others who have posted pictures on their profiles, what a blessing to be able to see how beautifully you have all matured and to see all the wonderful children and grandchildren. Love your stories and I am in awe of your talents and gifts!! Thank you for sharing your lives....

Marilyn Kelly (Palmer)

I hope that when I leave this world, people will think of me just half as much as they thought of Billy's mother. Everyone loved her and she loved them back. She raised some fine children too and that says alot!

I will add Jerry Brown to our prayer list at church. Sounds like he is going to be ok and back hunting before long. I sure hope so.

Lynn and Tommy, so happy about your new grandbaby. Glad all are doing well.

Donnie M. - how is Carol Ann? Tell her I ask about her and she needs to join us on the forum.
