I have lived in the Houston Texas area since 1970. You may read about some of my life experiences and thoughts at: https://www.iam777.org
My wife and four children are all native Texans.

School Story:

I am still enrolled in undergraduate classes at the School of Life. The prerequisite studies for my major were grueling, even life threatening at times. However, as I advanced from freshman to senior, I have never forgotten the great teachers and classmates I was privileged to come to know at Kecoughtan.

Anne, I hope you have a wonderful upcoming birthday and don't have too far to drive to celebrate. Yes, I still remember you as being one of the most remarkable classmates of mine at Kecoughtan.

Your name popped up on an email, which I just received from classcreator.com. I scan these emails regularly, mostly to see if I remember a name. I make very few comments other than posting “quite a lot” of general information on my profile page. Truth is, in all my numerous associations with people, I really have never mastered the art of “small talk”. To the point, I read your profile again from 2015 and found it to be hauntingly sad. I say sad because you obviously have a remarkable soul which, has opened itself up to some not so remarkable ones. If my assumption is incorrect than no reply is needed but you may message me back and just say, “Wayne message me back when you master the art of small talk, and not until then. However, if my assumption does ring a bell, then you might want to do what I did, to stop falling into that trap. I outline the steps on the first page of my web site at www.iam777.org. As I, myself, became more and more true to these steps, they saved me from wasting precious time on many unremarkable associations, many of which were your “so-called” wholesome church going community.

Thanks for the info about your book. I will order it tomorrow. I am looking for as many perspectives on the Vietnam War from Vets as possible. I have been working on a book about the war, myself, for the last three years. I find I am doing much more reading than I am writing.

I went to high school and graduated with Alex. He was a well-rounded all-American guy with a bright future. I don’t think there was a single guy in our large graduating class who didn’t have something good to say about Alex. The girls couldn’t say anything. Instead, they just got this dreamy far-away look in their eyes every time his name was mentioned.

Hey classmates, don't give up on life. I was probably the most "do nothing" graduate at Kecoughtan in 1965. Now, however, I am dreaming big and taking steps to make those dreams come true with just those tools I have at hand. It's up to God whether they do or
not. Let me share. I am about 2/3rds through writing a story called "Legacy" which I then hope to have made into a block buster movie. Here are links to 2 chapters. Please give me honest feedback on what you think.

After living as a failure until I was 40, I dedicated myself to The God of the bible and over time started turning my failed life into a winning life. What I mean by winning here, is not winning in a personal sense, but winning through association with aiding others to become winners. My personal successes seemed to always be byproducts of the successes of those, whose lives I touched. Strangely, I seemed to to be able to acquire the answer to each successive problem in life at the drop of a hat. This past Sunday I expected this same power to be displayed again as it has in the past, when I went to the ICU of a local hospital to pray for a young man with Covid who had just been placed on a ventilator. He died a few hours later. Where is God in all this. I haven't the foggiest idea.

Shortly after graduating from Kecoughtan I got caught up in the draft, sent to Vietnam and wound up walking point for almost nine months which was a virtual death sentence. Not until I was 70+ years old did I realize just how intricate the details were, which God had orchestrated to get me out of the trouble I had gotten into. I don't believe my life is unique in that way. I believe that God has bailed all of us out of numerous death dealing troubles during our lives. Let’s face it. We are getting old, but I don't believe anyone who reads this has outlived their purpose for being alive. I want to encourage every one of my classmates to stop and ask God to show you how he has intervened in your life up until now. I guarantee that you will be pleasantly surprised at the answers you get, as He replays those moments in time back for your review and even more pleased with the way he will begin to remove the walls which prevent you from continuing to move forward with your life.
