After HS, I went off to West Virginia for 2 years of college ... was a math major (probably because my smart @#$ sister was that) ... well, after 4 semesters of calculus I asked myself ... "why the dickens are you majoring in math" ... so I changed my major to business, marketing ... and ended up leaving school ... soooo ... not in school in the Fall of '67 (not good timing)... Vietnam was in full swing ... "draft here I come" ... well it didn't come ... I went to Rockland CC taking 12 hours at night so I could qualify as a full time student ... "good move" ... Spring of '68 found me at C.W. Post College (Long Island) where I graduated in the spring of '70 ... I was so blessed with my birthday being picked number 11 in the draft that year (NOT) ... back in the @#$ draft queue again ... Instead of going off to Canada, I went in the US Navy and spent 4 years at sea for most of the 4 years ... after that got a job installing newspaper typesetting systems using DEC computers ... 4 1/2 years of travel to tons of newspapers ... saw every state except Alaska and saw every Canadian Province ... after programming for newspaper production, I changed careers and worked for a financial reporting company, and finally ended up at Oracle Corporation when I retired in 2015 ...
Met Patti, while running as I did about a 20 year stretch of marathons and triathlons ... married 38 years with 2 girls (Heather 45, Dawn 43) and a son James 36. ... and 8 grandchildren. My Son and his wife and the 2 youngest grandkids live on the property as I converted one of the horse hay barns to a cottage ...
Live up in the woods in NY State now with some acres of our own and tons (10,000 acres) of State Forest around, so "heaven on earth" ... I'm on the town Volunteer Fire and Rescue squad.

Hi Joanna ... I joined the PVRHS web site ... thanks for the info to do that ... and yes, it was actually quite sad to see all who have passed ... I guess I think we are all going to be here forever ... and I still think that 75 is still young ... Nancy Hering and I were very close and dated ... life is so precious and short when you consider the universe and what is happening out there ... I should have been a teacher on astronomy.
