Ahhh..INITIATION..A rite of passage for those of us who join anything these days. I believe I "Initiated" Beau into our relationship...hazed him just a little ;) Enjoy my Cosmetology initiation...the only proof I have that I ever belonged to anything in High School...Well, except for that whole chili-cook off "HOG CALLING CHAMPION" thing...I still have that trophy...LOL I had to share a picture from that too. ENJOY MY FRIENDS ;)

Me as Vanna White (Left)and those are my bangs by the way!, Karen Roberts as, I HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA WHAT SHE WAS! and Raquel Sanchez (Right) as a man. Our upperclassmen weren't very creative...LOL...Although I did play Vanna quite well. I was "VANNA WHITE". I spent the day looking so fab turning fake letters and walking back and forth as if on stage with a nice big smile and lots of clapping. For some reason, I enjoyed the attention...Imagine that, me wanting to be the center of attention...

Yep, I was a part of the matching your boots to your clothes and tucking your pants in them phase! Geez..and who is that I see in this photo...LOUIS! LOL...and Tommy Anderson too! I wiped the AG Farm with ya'll that day. LOL AH, the memories of being a champ. Oh, and here's me again...

Hey, look over to the right...LOUIS..Who's that you are hugging on? LOL And finally, here it is...my reward for being a loud mouthed hog caller. Only at Sam Houston could I be rewarded for such talent. :)

Man, I had quit looking at this forum. No one ever posted anything over here. Guess we are starting to catch this one up to the one on the 89 Site? Yeah everyone on here would have to get busy to make that happen.

Deana, maybe this will make you feel better. It wasn't at school, but I won a watermelon seed spitting contest, so don't feel so bad about the whole hog calling thing....LOL.

I cringe when I see or smell watermelon...I was in a watermelon eating contest one year (high school years) in an effort to make people laugh....instead...I caused a vomit epidemic on the front row.

I won, until I threw it all up. I never ate watermelon before, believe it or not. What can I say, Jack in the box didn't sell it, so I never ate it...LOL
Needless to say, I didn't like it, but I wanted to win.

The rest is vomit history.
This is a no watermelon zone.

Oh way gross!!! Deana I do remember you doing the hog calling contest one year...don't remember which one I just remember taking lunch with a group of girls at work coming up to the Ag farm for the cook off and going back to work half lit:) But you did win:) Thank goodness I wasn't the only drunk at work that day, LOL
Deana that is so awesome you have all these pics:) I wish I had thought to take pics in high school.

Deana, I have been sworn off of watermelon. The fact that the last time I ate it (a peice the size of a quarter) my face swole up and my eyes swelled shut! Go figure when they did my allergy testing I tested positive for watermelon..LOL. I love watermelon (well that is if it's a good one) but, unfortunatly it doesn't like me.

Don't mention Jack in the Box, I love their tacos for some sick twisted reason. The problem, the closest one is a state away.

Hey everyone...I wanted to post a message to you 1988 grads and the years around that. If any of you remember Gwen Richards...she was a cheerleader at Patrick Henry, anyways I saw her on my classmates profile thing and sent ther an email. She graduated 1988 from Lamar but inquired about a few of her jr. high friends, if any of you remember Gwen or would like to send her an email let me know...I also told her about the alumni site so hopefully she can reconnect with some of you:)

Donna Ryan (Pfeffer) (1989) I just read the July postings in August here. Louis - I was Ellie Mae from the Beverly Hillbillies for cheerleader initation that year. They were always braiding my heavily hairsprayed, curly hair! Painful!

Glen Miller (1990) Hey Everybody, I hope all of ya'll down in the Houston Area made it through the Hurricane OK- Things were just horrible up here- I had to clean out the leaves in the pool twice that weekend. Hello Friends,
I received an email from Thomas Hemenway '88 this morning. His father passed away on Saturday morning. He asked that I pass the information along to everyone. I do not have the exact details at the moment, but when I do I will send it out. The obituarty will be in the newspaper Tuesday, September 30, 2008. The Rosary will be Wednesday and the Funeral on Thursday. It is at Earthman Resthaven. (Once I have the time details, I will pass it along to you) Please support Thomas and his family during this time. In his email he sweetly said "I know you will get word out, please let all know that if they can make it ok, if not please just pray for my mother and our family. My father will be missed dearly."
(I will be attending both services if anyone wants to go with me.)

Hi Harry and my fellow Tigers!!!!!!

I hope to see everyone at the alumni party on the 12th. When we get together we have a GREAT time so plan on being there....... The dinner Deanna planned a couple weeks ago was so much fun but it could have been better with more attendees.......

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Alumni party Friday night...it was wonderful! Once a gain, the turnout was big! Be sure to scheck out the photos under the "Alumni Parties" section. I will add more as I receive them from others..these are just what I took. I didn't get as many as I normally do, but they are still great.
