Ok Jerry you got the humidity thing right. I hate it and I live here.

I'm still trying to get away from the midwest humidity. So far, I have only dropped down one state. Ha! I think I will probably arrive in Hudson sometime around noon or a little later Friday. Hey, I checked out Dana's website. Very impressive! I also clicked on some of the other links. One took me to a company she worked for in Japan. Check it out. See Rhonda's message above. Happy 4th!

Also, I was looking at the "Great Moments in Senior History" and I was wondering why Karen, Marie, Angie, and I got detention for a week for being somewhere we should not have been. I don't even remember that. Does anybody else?

Kelly after reading the article, I would bet that it was that you guys skipped out of class and went to Pronto. I had to spend time for that more than once. But then again I spent time after school for a number of things.

My husband will be coming with me to the dinner. Rhonda - I love the idea of going to the Arts Festival. I spent some time working with Dana in Iowa City this summer. Her work is really amazing! I didn't think about the hotels being a problem (my parents moved closer to me last summer). Guess I better get that done tonight!

I just booked a room at the Heartland Inn on "Marnie". (Access road that runs by Hwy 63 South.) They said they have several rooms left. $81.00.
What time are we meeting at the Firemen's dance?
What time and where are we meeting for the parade on Sat?
I'll try to make it to float building on Friday - will depend on my husband's schedule.

Lynette staging for the parade starts at 0900 on Saturday. The parade starts then at ten. I don't have any idea of where we are in the parade. Maybe Jerry may know. I guess that is about all I can help you with now. The dance will be packed so we will need a place to meet. Maybe who ever gets there first can save a couple of tables for all of us. I'll be at the park by at least by 0900 or earlier that morning to help get the grill set up for the pork producers. I'm bringing in the tractor and the float that morning.

This isn't really related to stuff just posted. But I was wondering if anyone had seen the Will Smith "I am Legend" movie? I just saw it the other night, and besides being a little gorey and frightening, I thought it was really good. It made me think of that modern day Noah e-mail story, where he didn't build the ark because he couldn't get a building permit, etc. and that it was the government's fault. Anyway, I don't want to slam our government or even talk politics, because I do appreciate that there are people willing to serve in those capacities. And I respect them. And I am thankful for them and for the military personnel willing to put out the strength, courage, skills, and abilities it takes. But going back to the end of the movie, there's a comment about how we sometimes bring the big, bad, and the ugly on ourselves simply as human beings. And I think that is true. I think we need to "listen" and "focus" on the right things, and encourage each other to move forward, to do the right thing, and to work together to do good. Just wondered what anybody else thought. Anyway, have a great day!

I cannot believe that you don't remember why we got detention Kelly!! We were all talking one day about how everyone thought we were goodie two shoes and we never got in trouble (that was in study hall). So, we skipped study hall and went to the Jr. High girls lockerroom and stayed in there. We were so stupid!! That was right by study hall! See ya in a couple of weeks!

I can't believe that is all you guys did was hide in a locker room. I figured for sure it was a Pronto run. You were really living on the wild side. HA.

Hey Jerry I'm not having much luck finding things from the 80's here in Waverly. I'll keep looking !!! Is anyone else having any luck finding anything?

Kelly Van Ommeren (McDonald)

It's scarey how sometimes I can't remember things. I'll have to look for more 80's stuff. Yesterday, I bought some black bell-bottom pajama bottoms with Pink Panther outlined real big in pink on one leg. Would something like that count?!?

Glade Mogle

Hey the Pink Panther was big back then, go for it.

I was in so much trouble in school I can't remember it all. I know my 10th grade year I spent more time after school than I did not after school and that is no joke! and our senior year I threw a chair across the room at Mr. Haack and they were going to call the police, because they thought I was going to kick his butt.

I say it's a great idea to meet in the park after the parade at the Pork Producers grill. It should be set up around the basketball courts and on the south side of the park. Unless they move us like they have done in the past. Everyone will get the best sandwichs in the park, we have burgers and loin sandwiches. The loin sandwichs are the best, and each one is grilled with love by Rod and I. They are a hot item and we sellout every year. And the price is right.

Marie Feazell (Rainforth)

I was thinking it was when we did skip school and chose to "sneak" back in through the front doors, forgetting we ran right byt the teacher's lounge windows. I remember Mr. Carroll coming up the stairs with his famous, "Gir-rls". We were busted.
Friday night people are meeting at the firemans dance? Where is that going to be at?

Lynette Boss (Lender)

Marie,
I was wondering the same thing. Is it at the station? What time is everyone heading there?
Also, where is the best place to start looking for the float Saturday morning. Jerry, if you could give us a general area where they will be lining up, it would be really helpful! Hudson is SOOOOO big, you know. We might get lost!
I have several Hawaiian leis, and even a few grass skirts to bring. Is Scott Lindell coming? - he could wear the coconut bra just like old times (South Pacific musical).

Does anyone have any updates on Jacinda's mom?
I'm in favor of a memorial for our classmates. If we don't have time to pull together a tree planting, what about making a donation to the school library? Just a thought.

07/10/08 09:32 AM #112

Rhonda Quillin (Hinton)

Hi Everyone ! It has been crazy busy here for me so I haven't had time to check on a planting... we can check with everyone about a donation to the school library...that's kind of cool. Pork burgers would be great and something we can bring the family too as well..
Glade, is Dennis helping or just you and Rod ? I am definitely going to see Dana at the arts festival, this is a really cool event and there is something for everyone including kids... Dana plans on being at Jack 'nArnies Saturday night after the festival...
Should be a great weekend... pray for no rain and everyone's safe travels :)

The firemens dance is at the fire department now located down by the COOP. I do not have a time that it starts, but it is normally around seven.

Rhonda I don't know if Dennis will be there or not. He normally is there at sometime or another. I'll ask Rod. There is a lot of stuff for the family to do in the park.

I want to do all the good ideas (parade, stuff in the park or where ever you are with the food - ha!, Dana's booth, the planting thing or the donation to the library, etc.) I talked to Michelle about them last night. I think probably a lot of other classmates will want to do all these good ideas too. I look forward to receiving "the agenda". Thanks for all your hard work. I am planning to leave about four in the morning Friday--unless I decide to stay in Kansas City with a friend Thursday night. I am really looking forward to this, seeing everybody, and everything. Be careful in traveling, etc...
