We'll be there. Count us in for 2. I'll bring some sort of green vegetable. Maybe a chopped brocolli salad or something similar.

Hi Gang, I hope you all have a great Friday night. Unfortunately I won't be able to come either. It's a little too far from Houston. I hope to make one of these gatherings in the future I would love to see you all. If you are ever in the Houston area look me up.

Can't wait to see everyone!  Party starts at 6:30 and we will try to eat by 7:00 to give everyone time to gather and organize.  I have a pork butt in the smoker and the dogs in the fridge:)

My Phone Number in case you need help:  256-651-2583

Address To Greg And Susan's (White Lester) house:  41 Lake Forest Blvd, Huntsville, AL 35824

Directions coming from SE Huntsville:  Take 565 toward the airport (that's West), watch for the Madison Blvd. Exit, take the exit but stay in the left lane.  You will go through two lights and turn LEFT onto Zierdt road (third light). There is a Texaco and a Steak Out on the right at that intersection.  If you pass and see the Publix on your right turn around.  The name of the road is something else to the right so beware of that.  Go down Zierdt for a good way and you will come to Martin Road. Take a left ( right goes into an arsenal gate).  Go past one apartment complex on the left and take a left onto Lake Forest Blvd at the Lake Forest Sign.  Take the first exit to the right from the roundabout (before you get to the pool) and then follow the road around to our house.  We are on the corner of King George's Way the and Blvd on the Lake side (your left).  We have several areas where you can park...you can turn in at the pass through drive in the front of the house or turn the corner onto King Georges Way and park at the garage doors.  If those are full turn the corner onto King George's way and park on the right side of the road.  The Directions from Nashville are easy too.  Just head to Huntsville on 65 and exit onto the 565 EAST exit toward Huntsville.  Exit onto Madison Blvd and turn left onto Zierdt.  The rest is the same.

Greg and I were just talking.  Looks like we will have 20-22 people..  If we all want to hang out downstairs on the patio, we could use some of you to bring some folding chairs.  We have around fourteen spots downstairs and some knee walls but it would be nice to ahve a few more chairs.  If you live in the area please consider bringing some.

JD called and asked about the dress code.  Anyway we live on a little community lake and have a large patio so most likely we will be out there at least  some of the time.  I have some yard games and we have mosquito control and tiki torches so shorts are fine.  No stillettos as we have wood floors.  Barefeet and flipflops are not recommended as the neighborhood dogs and geese are not always careful.  For those of you coming from out of town weather is perfect right now...75ish with a nice little breeze.  Tomorrow may be a bit warmer but not significant.   If you want beer bring it.  JD is bringing some wine.  We have some yard games and there's no curfew so you can stay as long as you want:)

Looks like My Wife (Paula) and I will be able to make this one. We'll sally forth from our abode early tomorrow morning to wing it in from Tampa. Assuming our accomodation arrangements remain intact and our hosts do not flee in panic at the arrival of us southern pirates (buccaneers), we'll be there to have fun with the rest of "yawl".

Cheers

J.D.

There was a nice recognition of my daughter by Mayor Battle at the Hunsville City Council meeting last night.  https://twitter.com/huntsvillecity/status/637042029277655040/photo/1  GRISSOM ALUM 2004  :)  She lives in Philadelphia now but is in town for a few days.  Maybe she can come by and show off her medal tonight.

Did I miss the time/location for the event tonight?

Such a great Class of 74 get together at Greg and Susan Lester's beautiful home.  Just when you think it couldn't possibly get any better the bar raises a few notches!  Thanks to the spouses (not shown) of our class who made sure our classmate attended and who fit right in with the rest of us. We truly have a unique bunch of folks who did not necessarily know each other well when we were in school, but enjoy each other and continue to build on what we have in common...GHS 1974! Great conversations, lots of laughs, lots of food too! Appreciated JD & Paula flying in from FL, and Judy and Kathy driving down from Nashville. Wouldn't have been the same without you. Many of our 'core group' were missed tonight, a well as some we expected to show and looked forward to seeing you! You know who you are.. yes, YOU!  Show up next time, ok?

Thank you Greg and Susan for welcoming us to your beautiful home. I think you could tell how comfortable we felt. We just moved from one room to the next, talking talking talking, and sharing stories.  Who knew Ricky had a Jimi Hendrix doll, oops I mean, action figure!  I was one of the first to leave... at 1045pm!  So thank you again Greg and Susan!

Hello Everyone,

I have been traveling throughout the States for the past few weeks and will soon be returning back to New Zealand.  Regetfully, I only return to the States once every 3-4 years and when I do so I am constantly on the road and never anywhere more than a few days.  I just want to say that it is so encouraging to hear that so many of you are regularly trying to get together.  Hopefully, I will be able to one day be in the Huntsville area at the same time that you are getting together.  I wish you all well and hope that you have a great time catching up.  Steve Williams

Susan and Greg, Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to us for a great night. The food was great and the fellowship was even better.

Steve, Next time you're in the Huntsville area, we will make it a point to organize a get together so you can be a part of this group.

To Steve:  It was GREAT for Jim and I to catch a glimpse and meal with you and Rita on your fly-by this summer. You MUST let us know when you are in the Huntsville area again...I'm thinking y'all will fly out of the States this month?

To Rick:  You Rock!

To JD: You ain't right.  hahaha  You know I'm just kidding and we were all thrilled to see you and Paula!

I got this question from a current Grissom mom on my FaceBook page this morning. Please respond and I'll compile and respond to her:

Since you graduated in 70's, not too long after Grissom opened, do you or any of your friends know why Orange & Brown were chosen?

Thank,

Alisa Owens Davis
