Dennis and JD had the right idea. Now those of us close by need to! It's April already and we need to all get together for Pizza or Brunch this month or next preferably on a weekend. Anyone care to do it?

Ruth......Hess, life is good, and the Trips are thriving at three months. They weigh between 11 and 13#, and are sleeping longer at night, though not through the night yet. They had their first social outing last Saturday to the B'ham Botanical Garden for an hour or so. Took us a while to get out the door (OK, more than an hour) including setting up the stroller for the first time. We left Fred Poodle at home (B'ham) so he didn't get to go with us.

Hey,

Does anyone know when Grissom is going to have the last Graduation for the class that attended the original school. Also does anyone know of any final events they have going on there in the final few months of operation? I think I would like to visit one last time for an event or graduation before the kids all start at the new school next year. Call me sentimental......

Good afternoon - The Grissom Girls in Nashville are planning a gathering and agreed on a date, Saturday, May 20! We invite and hope you all can join us at Granite City Restaurant in Franklin a 4:00 PM. Granite City Restaurant is located in Franklin, no one has to drive into Nashville, unless you want to visit Music City!

Granite City Restaurant: 1864 West McEwen Drive, Franklin, TN 37067, 615-435-1949, www.gcgb.com.

We chose 4:00 pm, that gives us time for a fun evening and those traveling will not get home to late (hope that does not sound like I am an old lady!).

This gathering is open to all Grissom alumnae, please forward this invitation as needed. Please let Denise, Kathy, Gail, or me know if you and your spouse or significant other plans to join us. We will call Granite City earlier that week to let them know how many people will join us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for a fun evening! Go Tigers! We are Grissom! Go Team! 2 bits- 4bits - 6 bits a $

Enjoy the week.

Hey Judy!

You Nashville girls have got it going on! I only wish we could be there.

I will have just returned from travel that begins the 11th, and though I cannot predict the future, I'm pretty sure that this ol' lady will be ready to chill-out at home that evening and weekend.

I know we will miss a good time but hope to catch up with everyone the next time!

Hugs to all you Nashville Grissom Tigeress-es!

Thanks for responding Jim, Ruth, and Susie. Jim, please let Kathy, Denise, Gail, John Scoble, or me know when you are in town. We actually do pretty well with spontaneous (sp? who knows and right now do not care :0). We need to get email and phone numbers exchanged, so you can contact one of us. Noticed you attended the Preds Game last week, should have tried to get tickets, but sometimes the couch is the best seat! Anyway, happy to know you were part of the crowd cheering on the Preds!

Ruth, we will miss you and hope to see you and others at the next gathering.

Susie - I have no problem making road trip to Houston, maybe not in the hot summer, I hear Houston is like a swamp.

Hope some others can join us on Saturday, May 20!

Enjoy the rest of the week and have a great weekend!

Paula and I with Grissom class mate Virgil Vance Moore and his Wife Helen in Ponferrada Spain for mother's day!  A preplanned 2 day rendezvous half way around the world to wish them well on their hike (Paula and I are in Spain for other reasons). You can follow Vance and his wife on facebook regarding their six week pilgrimage on foot from France to Santiago de Compostela Spain (the Holy trail of St. James). Class of 74 rocks!

:-)

Nice get together - too short, but great time had by all.  Every time we get to have a reunion experience, magic happens!  Time seems to freeze in between the visits.  I guess there are no time boundaries in between seeing classmates.

Countdown begins...Only one week away until May 26 when the GHS doors will close for good! A LAST GHS WALK will be a "brown bag walk through auction" on June 14th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM where we Alum can walk around campus and look at items that the school system is auctioning off that teachers and staff do not want. Then on June 16, they will sell leftover items online. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 20 at 10:00 AM at the new GHS campus. Please take pictures for all of us of out of town Alum that can't walk the old campus one last time!

Thanks to Susan Wilson Detwiler for the information.

Enjoyed visiting with Coaches Williamson and Robinson (another former coach, Walker, is on the right) at the Grissom Football Alumni dinner.  Coach Robinson is still sharp.  He started talking about the State Championship Game and the pass play that Banks ran to score their fist touchdown of the game like it was yesterday.  I also enjoyed visting with Kin Clinton GHS 75 and Joe Dasaro GHS 73.  Us old folks must have inspired the team because they snapped a 20 game losing streak beating Arab 35 - 12.

Prayers going to to all of those of my fellow Grissom Classmates living in Florida and the Greater Houston/Lousiana Area. Sad to see so much tragedy back to back and I pray all of you are all right and please let us know if we can do anything for you.

Classmates!

Jim Record was hospitalized 12/9 due to a major heart attack. Last update, doing okay, but still in CCU. If you have chance - wish him well and a speedy recovery!

We need him for that 45 year reunion in 2019!

JD
