Tribute to Seniors

 A Tribute to Seniors ‘79

For all those times I screamed and yelled,

I remember a dozen others filled with laughter.

There were water fights, cold nights

of decorating, skating until we had

muscle cramps,  shaving cream, and

always the rain.

Living with you these past four years

has been like foster parenthood~~~

There were the usual cold, sore

throats, broken bones, bumps, and bruises.

But, Thank God, we had to endure

no major disasters or sorrowful tragedies.

We were protected from those miseries.

Now the time has come to see

Each of you make that step into

adult life.  This is hard enough to watch

when there is only one ~ but

Heaven help me, I have 39.

As you go into the next phase of life,

Remember those things you have learned ~

not just the reading, writing, and

arithmetic ~ but the sharing, the

caring, the pride, and the respect

we have come to expect of each

other and, most of all, of ourselves.
