Class of 1979 Reunion
Join your former classmates and their families for a day of visiting, reminiscing and getting reacquainted with old friends on Saturday, July 25th, 2009.
The reunion will take place east of Iberia off Hwy 42 at the Francis Cochran farm beside their beautiful lake.
o You will travel 7 miles east of Iberia (or toward Vienna)
o Turn left on Hannah Store Road (unpaved) and travel approximately 1 ½ miles
o Turn left on White School Road go approximately 9/10 of a mile
o Turn left at 181 White School Road – The Cochran Residence
A few years ago the Cochran’s built a lake on their farm with a bathhouse, 1 small cabin, a screened room & some open decks that overlook their lake. You can swim in the lake & they have a small boat on the lake too. They keep the area stocked with a bbq grill, picnic tables & some other tables & chairs, but it would be a good idea to bring a couple of lawn chairs with you.
There is a place to set up a band or a dj. Jeff Shackleford has graciously agreed to be in charge of the music. If you have any requests, or would like to share your musical talents with us, please contact Jeff and let him know.
We were thinking that we would keep it simple & bbq (hamburgers, hot dogs & brats). We will start at 2 in the afternoon & try to eat around 4. Please bring a covered dish to share. If it would be easier for those of you traveling a distance (or if you just don’t want to cook), you can send money instead and we will use it to help pay for the cost of the meat & paper products.
If we want to, they said we could shoot off fireworks at dark. If anyone is interested, I could use a volunteer to be in charge of the fireworks. They also said if anyone would want to pitch a tent & spend the night you are welcome to do that too. There is a one room cabin & a couple of camper hookups that would be available (if you’re interested let me know-first come first serve). We could set up a horseshoe pit or some other yard games (David Miller is bringing a game – all others are welcome too).

If you would like to purchase a “Class of 79 – 30 Year Reunion” t-shirt, D-Best Trophies in Iberia has designed a shirt in honor of this special event. The cost for a shirt is $10 and you can purchase them in either gray or white. If you would like one of the shirts, contact Jackie or Lori & we will order them for you.
We have worked hard to locate as many of our former classmates as we could, but if you see any classmates that we may have missed or members of any other class that you would like to invite, please let them know about the reunion. Everyone is welcome to attend. Hope to see you all on the 25th!
