Cheryl Tippit Skidmore

I am a retired schoolteacher, having taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades, and Special Education. I retired 10 years ago due to health reasons and am currently enjoying time with my grandchildren. They are 10, 5, and 2 years old. My husband is also retired and I guess you could say I'm a golf widow! I also enjoy our annual SW vacation to Santa Fe and Taos. Naturally a round or four of golf gets squeezed in while I'm shopping. I have logged into MacArthur's website occasionally to check the status of highschool friends. I want to thank everyone who contributes time and effort in locating and keeping all the websites as up to date as possible. If any people I knew want to get in touch with me, please do! My memory being that of an old grandma, I might have to look at the yearbook for help!

I came to Irving, TX from Moore, OK. It was on my 16th birthday that my family moved. It was very hard for me to make friends, but I did enjoy music, so I enrolled in choir and adjusted. I did have many good times there and miss the friends I made. A girl named Patricia and some of her friends came to my house the first day I attended school at Mac and walked with me, showing me around the school. I will always remember that act of kindness. I believe she later became a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.
