Frank Racanelli

Frank X. Racanelli, 75, of Brick, died Feb. 23, 2012, at Ocean Medical Hospice, Brick, with his two children holding his hands at bedside after a two-year battle with cancer.  Born in Newark, Frank graduated from Irvington High School, then completed a bachelor's and master's degree at Seton Hall University. His joyous years began as lead singer of the Sunny Lads. He also signed a record label, performed with celebrities, and toured Europe.  Frank married his childhood sweetheart, Estelle, was married for 44 years, settled in Brick and had three children. He tragically lost his first son, Steven Pascal, age 6, to leukemia. He then resided with his family in Point Pleasant for more than 30 years.  Frank's degrees catapulted him from teacher to award-winning guidance counselor in Brick schools, retiring in 1994 as guidance supervisor. He balanced his time to civic service, boating, writing and recording music. He prioritized family, was a devoted father and important father figure to others.  Frank is survived by Estelle; their two children, daughter, Meri Therese, and son, Frank Steven; his two sisters, Anne Simone and Rose D'Alessio.
