I KNOW IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I LEFT ANY MESSAGES!!!!! I HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF THINKING ABOUT OUR REUNION.AND I WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE HAVE HAD THE SAME THOUGHTS AS I HAVE BEEN HAVING. THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL TIME IN OUR LIVES NOT BECAUSE WE HAVE LOST SO MANY OF OUR DEAR FRIENDS AND LOVE ONES, BUT WE HAVE MADE HISTORY. WE ARE LIVING WITNESSES TO BEING ON THAT MOUNTAIN TOP AND BEING BLESSED TO SEE THE PROMISED LAND. WE ARE THE FIRST TO INTERGRATE THE SCHOOLS ON THE BEACHES. THIS IS HISTORY!!!!!!AND TO BE ABLE TO SEE OUR FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT ELECTED TO THIS UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS A HONOR FOR ALL OF US.I AM SO VERY THANKFUL TO GOD TO HAVE ALLOWED ALL OF US TO BE A PART OF HISTORY. GOD ALLOWED ME TO GO TO WASHINGTON DC TO SEE HISTORY BEING MADE. AND YES I FLEW BY MY SCARY SELF! I HAD THE PEOPLE ON THE PLANE LAUGHING ABOUT OUR PLANE BEING THE SOUL PLANE.IF ANY ONE ELSE OUT THERE WAS A WITNESS TO HISTORY BEING MADE YOU KOW HOW IT FELT. THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE CRYING FOR JOY AND YES I WAS ONE OF THEM. I HAVE REASONS TO BE GRATIFUL!! WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD!! THIS PAST YEAR I HAVE REALLY LOOKED AT LIKE IN A DIFFERENT WAY. ITHOUGHT I KNEW GOD BUT NOW I REALLY KNOW WHO HE IS.I KNOW THAT ONE MAN COULD NEVER TELL THE STORY OF HOW AWESOME GOD IS TO ALL OF US.I BELIEVE THIS REUNION IS GOING TO BE MORE THAN WHAT ANY OF US CAN IMAGINE.JUST TO THINK THAT IT GOT STARTED BY US LOOSING A VERY DEAR FRIEND KENNY RUFFIN. THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD! IT'S SO AMAGING TO SEE CLASSMATES CHILDRENS AND THEY TAKE FLYERS HOME AND BY THE TIME WE GET BY HOME THEY HAVE ALREADY LOGGED IN. SO THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO IS WORKING TO GET THE WORD OUT. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS THIS REUNION IS MY PRAYER

Okay everyone you guys are holing back, come on now send some pics so we can make this feel real. I would love seeing pictures of my old friends. This will really bring it home and motivate us to push harder to make this a real success. I have been looking through some of my old pictures to make some of you remember when!

James Mathews (1970 ) (1970)

Okay, Donnie. If it will help get the 70 numbers up, I have posted a picture. Let's rev this thing up! We may be a little older, but we have to get our 70 brothers and sisters to represent and we can easily win this.

Barbara Campbell (Williams) (1973)

Greetings to all. I'm really looking forward to this reunion. It is historical that we, the last generation to desegregate Duval County, would come together and embrace in this celebration of the lives we have lived. We, the last generation to experience the warmth and love of that school with the big, old, oak tree in the back, called #144. Mrs. Brown was the first for most of us. Mrs.Wiggins 3rd, and on and on. Mrs. Roundtree, Mrs. Hampton, where would we be without them. I expect to see all of you this fall.

Peace and Love Ron Wharton

Hello Everyone, Here's some very important news I wanted to share with you:

Florida A&M Looking for Black Female Students

Scholarship Information

Florida A & M University is providing an outstanding opportunity for Black women entering college in the fall of 2009. It is designed to address their absence in the field of computer technology. Dr. Jason Black is the Principal Investigator of a recently awarded $552,000 NSF Grant entitled African-American Women in Computer Science. The grant provides scholarships from $4000 to $10,000 per year for female African American students.

We need your help to get the word out about this great opportunity to build back up the enrollment of women in the CIS Department. Pass this information along to high school or community college students , their parents, and to guidance counselors you may know. The full text of the scholarship can be found at http://www.cis.famu.edu/~aawcs/

Be Blessed!
