We know that it might be getting harder to locate classmates that we haven't seen in years but let's all keep looking and spreading the word. The response has been really great so far and we still have a little over five months to go . This is going to be a great event and I know that all of our classmates will want to attend so it is up to those of us who have already signed up to keep spreading the word. Thanks to everyone that Gail and I have received some very good and special messages from they were really fun to read and it was great to hear from people we have not talked to in years. And to the class of 71, we have got to crank up our numbers so that we can show 73 and 75 who's party this really is (smile), looking foward to seeing you all.

Jimmy I agree. I am so very happy with the response thus far , but I think that we can still reach even more people. Our Publicity Committee headed by Sheila Davis has done a fantastic job of getting the word out. Let's all help them to reach even more people. I see that a lot of family members are on the site so we need to contact them and maybe more than once. Since Janet Sampson signed on to sight, I notice that all of her family has followed. Let's follow her lead. Okay 75 don't think you have this contest of most classmate won, 75 is not far behind, so watch out!(smile)

Do you remember, EWF

I Remember when we had the school dance at 144 on friday nights in the cafeteria with some type of red whatever on the floor. Yea man, I use to get all geared up for that affair always hoping for my li bubblegum girlfriend would show up, so maybe I'll still a kiss before returning home before 10pm. (Ha ha). But you know I did kiss but never told. It's was all good.

Let's hear your story, don't leave me hanging.

Peace,

Rex

At the dance i would try to sneak a kiss from Regina, but her step-dad was at one door and her mom was at the other so i just chilled and waited until she got to Fletcher ! By-the-way. has anyone seen Regina Brewton , Dianne Williams or Pam Davis and Charlene ?

will someone count the number of "US" that were in each class. Maybe your class has the largest number to sign up only because you had the largest number of "US" in your class. Hmmmmmmmm

Willard, it looks like the parents had you in a crossfire. If it was me I would have duck down to sneak one in. Ya dig.

Later,

Hey Rex and Willard, I do remember those dances. In fact, I was kissed by a special young man not you or Willard.(smile). I am not telling who.

One thing that sticks in my mind is the Talent Show that was never to be. Myself, Annette Knight, Mary Addison, were all tuned up to do our performance and 2 girls started fighting and Mr. Mack Freeman canceled the talent show. My group was all fired up and really to dance to the song, ( Love makes the world go round). Mr Freeman said it was his favorite song and suggested we get Alice Moss to sing and we dance in the background. However we never got to show our talent.

Do anyone remember who were the group that performed as the Temptation at another talent show. I remember Marvis Jones, Carl Howell, and Tim Morgan but were there others?

Lerexford (Rex) Easterly (1975 ) (1975)

Sylvia,

Rodney Mac, put on a talent show back in 72 and your brotherinlaw Tim Martin, Larry Currelley, Mr. Moody, (AKA Baybay) Lewis Swain, and myself were performing as the temptations. I remember the slick moves we had perfected. To this day they are one of my all time favorites. Now you are about to make me put out my Temps dvd live in concert.

Those were the days,

Rex

If anyone wants to know about dances let me tell you. They were not held at 144 but at the Carver Center and the band that preformed was the Sound Treatment Band. All of the dances we held were enjoyed by everyone that attended.Did all of you forget those.

Lerexford (Rex) Easterly (1975 ) (1975)

You are so right Ricky, the Carver Center did slip my mind. If my memory serve me correctly you were one one of the band members, along with Riggie D. and I believed one of the Kennedy brothers.

What they had at 144 was call a "school hop".

You were to young to make the real dances. But they were held at the center on Jax Beach. The real band was Willard on Sax, Donnie Waters on Drums, Freddie Kennedy on Bass Robert Kennedy and Freddie on Trumpet, Earnest Davis on Trombone, Ronnie Davis on Organ and Joseph Pierce on Vocals. All managed by the tamborine man, Mr. Holloway. Stay tuned for the reunion tour, sponsored by Ben Gay and Geritol!!!!

I must admit that I avoided making any comment at the time of my last message. selfishly, I did'nt want to think of the lost of a long time friend. I wanted to stop and think of how fierce and dominating he was on the basketball court, how he liked to laugh and make jokes and the time we spent together when he was here in Tallahassee and at Ft. Bragg while in the military. Having said that, i must stop to extend my condolences to the family and all of his friends for the loss of their loved one. He would want us all to take this as a reminder that life is short. Let people know how you feel. If you love them, tell them. If you have petty problems with them, work them out. In all of our lives we can reduce the stress, reduce the high blood pressure and reduce the pain that comes from problems that we can solve, only if we attempt to. Life is short, live it. And most of all, thank God for every second...

I'm not good at finding the right words to say at times like this but I just want the family to know that they are in my thoughts and that my heart goes out to them. I will keep the family in prayer and may god guide them and keep them.
