can you believe this, where are the happy fathers day messages?

As for me, I miss my dad.  he was my hero. A real man, Smart and firm.   He loved life and lived it to its fullest.  His strength, his relatiohship with other people.  His weakness, women.  MY dad was a God fearing man.  He loved Atlantic beach and Friendship Baptist church.  I think what i miss most is being able to talk to him about everything, and just as my relationship with my son,  we never lied to each other(*as adults).  Boy could he get mad, and then forget it and put it aside.  Some time i'm glad i'm like my dad and sometimes i'm not feeling so good about it.  Unlike kids today, I never disrespected my father, they did'nt play that in dem days.  I hope i'm what my dad wanted me to be,  a man.........

Late response to Father's Day...

Happy Father's Day to real men...FATHERS! MEN WHO STAND IN PLACE AND BE ACCOUNTABLE. PLACES WHERE GOD WILL SAY JOB WELL DONE.

I miss my father. A great man, strong willed... firm but loving...great listener...counselor...God Fearing...love life and lived it. To a lot of people he was known as Papa Louis and loved to have fun with anyone who wanted to have a good time. My HERO!!!

Happy belated Father's Day to all the wonderful men that are a part of this forum. I must say I totally enjoyed Father's Day. We celebrated this special day by taking a family trip to the Georgia mountains. It was absolutely wonderful. My husband and sons in law were really feeling the occasion. They treated the ladies and children to a nice breakfast every morning, cooked fish the first night and grilled the last night. Can't wait for Father's Day next year (smile).

Well i have first hand knowledge of how it really make you look a second time at how blessed you are to have a better half. When she was recovering from her surgery i tried to pat myself on the back for how i took care of her. Then one day in Sunday school i was about to tell the group of guys just how much i had done and wanted to boast, God laid it on my heart my wedding day when i promised to love and cherish her for better or worst, that is when i realized it was part of the job. But the true test was when i saw the smile on her face when she knew i was exhausted and was still doing all i could to make her comfortable. It was then I began to appreciate just how much she finishes me. I knew then that she love me because she felt comfortable enough to ask me to be there for her every need. I knew just how much I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this lady. I told her a little while back that if she decides to leave me make sure she pack me a bag.

A special thank you to Rex, for always taking time out of his busy schedule to keep the lines of communications open on the forum and offer his words of encouragement and consolation to all that occasionly comment. Also extended to Roxanne for always keeping us informed about the status of our classmates when otherwise we would not even be aware. To Jimmy Gamble, Willard Dudley, Donnie Waters, Sharon Pope, Zach and all the others( sorry, if I left anyone off) that take the time to come on and post inspirational messages. I know that a lot of us even myself visit but just can't seem to find the time to write but classmates we said that we wanted to keep in touch!  I am going to try to do better because I so enjoy hearing good news about us and the accomplishments of our families. So let's begin to keep in touch and I'm sure we all would like to hear from each other even if it's as simple as I lost my hair(smile).  Just a line to say hello or a prayer would be enough to brighten our day.

I would like to share that our classmate Barbara Parker obtained her BA Degree in Business and Administration in and she did this while holding down a full time job!  Congratulations my forever friend!

I love you all and my thoughts and prayers are always with each of you.  God willing I have great anticipation in seeing everyone at the 2011 reunion!
