It was told during the funeral that Robert was killed during an attempted robbery. He lived in the DC area and was working part time as a store clerk. It is said that the murderer told him to empty the cash register and Robert told him that if he took the last bill from the drawer the alarm would automatically sound. The murderer made him take out all of the money, the alarm sounded, and the murderer shot and killed him.

Recalling Robert is impossible without smiling! I recall him mostly being shy but having a bit of prankster in him as well. Robert took life more seriously as we approached our last year in high school as, I guess, most of us did, but I will always remember him for his laughter and the twinkle in his eyes.
