Phillip Griffin - Class Of 1975

Phillip Ray Griffin, age 62, of Jenkins, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born on September  16, 1957 in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late John Riley Griffin and Susie Ann Mullins Griffin.

    Phillip was an avid Rolling Stones fan and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and Volkswagen vehicles throughout the years.  He enjoyed his career as a welder and taking care of his furnace repair customers.  He was of the Christian faith.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers:  Bobby Joe Griffin and Paul Stephen Griffin and by two sisters: Reta Sharon Short and Judy Ann Hopkins.

   He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Brenda Gail Griffin;  one daughter, Kristy Lynn Hall (Anthony) of Jenkins, Kentucky; one son, Phillip Andrew Griffin of Jenkins, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Patrick Riley Griffin (Megan) of LaFayette, Georgia, Madison Alexis Thompson of LaFayette, Georgia, Preston Andrew Griffin of Jenkins, Kentucky and Payton Lee Griffin of Jenkins, Kentucky; a grandcat, Gizmo; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of other family and many friends.

   Visitation for Mr. Griffin will be held on Friday, January 3, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Polly & Craft Funeral Home Chapel of Jenkins.

    Funeral services for Mr. Griffin will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Slone officiating.

    Interment will follow in the Ison Cemetery of Slemp, Kentucky.
