Jack Morgan - Class Of 1957 VIEW PROFILE

September 21, 1939- January 21, 2019

Jack Morgan of Hazard, Ky. formerly of McRoberts, Ky., passed away January 21, 2019,  at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Ky.

Jack was the son of the late Carl and Ethel Brown Morgan.

Jack was a Kentucky Colonel, Member of McRoberts Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Trustee.  He grew up a scout, was a Mason for over  years, a member of the Neon Lions Club. He served oon the Jenkins School Board for 8 years, Neon Water Commission, ARH advisory Board.  He worked for over 55 years, 30 of those at A & P.  He graduated from Jenkins High School where played basketball. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Burke Morgan of Hazard formerly of McRoberts; 2 daughers:  Robin Morgan of Pineville and Cynthia Gooch (Chris) of Hazard, KY ; 1 sister: Virginia Morgan of McRoberts ; 3 grandchildren: Whitney ( Josh) Howard, Jonah Gooch ( fiance Hannah Mullis), and Cassidy Gooch; One Great- Grandchild, Lillian Howard.

Jack was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Yates and a special cousin, Ronald Crosbie. Funeral services were Friday, January 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Neon First Church of God with Mark Wagoner, Chris Dool, and Bishop Willie Lamb officiating. Visitation was Thursday, January 24, 2019, during the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Kenneth B. Gooch Cemetery at Deane, Ky.
