Nancy Hayes (Mullins) - Class Of 1968

Nancy Lee Hayes Mullins, age 74, of Knoxville, TN surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Nancy was married to her high school sweetheart, Benny Mullins, for 55 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and memories. Nancy was the heart of her family, loving them fiercely and offering unwavering support. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and those moments meant more to her than anything. 

A woman of deep faith, Nancy found joy in simple pleasures. She loved walking on the beach, watching the sun rise and set, and always found comfort in the beauty of rainbows and the endless sky above. Nancy especially cherished the quiet moments spent with Benny on Norris Lake, fishing and watching the sunset from their pontoon boat. 

People often say "she is the strongest woman I've ever known." Nancy's legacy lives on through her family and friends, who will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and strength. She touched the lives of many with her love and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by parents, Haskew and Fannie Hayes and sister, Mary Hayes Dill.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Benny Al Mullins; son, Brian Ashley Mullins, wife, Crystal "Christie" Brock Mullins; daughter, Stephanie Mullins Asher, husband, Joseph "Todd" Asher; grandchildren: Violet Ashleigh Mullins, Brock Alan Mullins, Sydney Hayes Asher, Maddox Jay Asher; her siblings: Haskew "Buddy" Hayes, Pat Widener, Pauletta Robbins, Brenda Sizemore and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. A service to celebrate her life will begin at 7:00 PM, officiated by Dr. William Boyd Bingham III and Dr. Boyd Bingham IV. Family and friends are invited to gather at Berry Lynnhurst on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:30 AM for a procession to the graveside for an 11:00 AM interment service.
