Roger "Hunky" Hall - Class Of 1966

Roger Dale “Hunky” Hall, age 71, of Jenkins, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at his residence.   He was born on August 1, 1947 in Jenkins, Kentucky.

   He was a son of the late Willard Rush Hall and Hattie June Elkins. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; Bobby Hall, Thurman Hall and Willard Rush Hall, Jr.

   He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gallion Hall; three sons:  Derek Keith Hall of Georgetown, Kentucky, Brandon Shane Hall of Georgetown, Kentucky and Kiley Dane Hall (Katina) of Richmond, Kentucky; two sisters: Lacretia Gaye Mullins of Pikeville, Kentucky and Bonnie Lou Johnson (Ralph) of Dandridge, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Lindsay Hall, Peyton Hall, Addison Hall and Alli Hall; along with a host of other family and many friends.

 Hunky was very actively involved with the community.  He truly enjoyed helping everyone he possibly could. He was someone that you could count on. 

   Among his many accomplishments, he was a United States Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam War and he served our county and city as a Constable for twenty-six years and had a successful law enforcement career of over thirty years.  He also served as a member of the following groups:  Jenkins American Legion, Jenkins Masonic Lodge #856(forty-two years), Area Jaycees, Jenkins City Council, Patriot Guard, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, Ben Caudill 13th Cavalry Civil War Reenactment Camp, Christianaire’s Quartet and the Jenkins Volunteer Fire Department.

   He also loved coaching. He coached Little-League ball for over twenty-years.

  In leiu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shriner’s Hospital and/or Shop With a Trooper in Hunky’s memory, as he lived by the motto- “to pay it forward”.

 

   Visitation for Mr. Hall will be held at the Old Jenkins High School building on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with public visitation.

   A public memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM from the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church.

    A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Lexington National Cemetery.
