David H. Banks Principal

Mr. Banks and I had an interesting relationship. He taught me biology where he told me I was smart but lazy because I always chose easy science projects; then in junior year he asked me to sign up for physics because they needed one more student to be able to teach the class and I was the only student in that period study hall that qualified for the class ( told him I would have to 'think' about it  but did eventually take the class). He threw me out of study hall once for "talking" and off the bus once for being "too loud".

Despite these few incidents (haha) I really liked him and thought he was a wonderful teacher.

Mr. Banks was my mother-in-law's first cousin. He was very kind to me when I came to Jenkins as a first-year teacher. His wife Juanita and I worked on our master's degrees together. I am sorry for his loss.
