I am a writer.

My article, with pictures I took as a navy pilot, is in the Feb. 2011 issue of FlyPast magazine. The article starts on pg.30 and is titled "Into the Abyss". www.flypast magazine is a major aviation monthly by Key Publishing. It is based in England and sold around the world.

Spent 7 years as a Navy pilot before going to work as a Delta Airline pilot. Worked for Delta Airlines for 33 years and retired as an International Captain flying to Asia on the MD-11.

Joann and I were boaters on the West Coast for 23 years. We cruised the coast from Alaska to Mexico from our home port of Anacortes, Washington.

I miss my home in the mountains.

In the summer of 1950 I went to Detroit and worked for Chrysler for three months. I was 16 and didn't know how to drive, but I bought a 1936 Dodge for $150.and drove it home to Jenkins. I had that car for my junior and senior years and it pretty much defined me in those days.
