Mr. Dennis Wayne Brewer, age 72, husband of Joyce Brown Brewer, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 16, 1948, in Fleming, Kentucky, Dennis was the son of the late Ishmael David Brewer and the late Jeanette Jones Brewer. He married Joyce Brown on April 6, 1968. Dennis worked thirty-seven years for Flint Ink Corporation before retiring in 2008. He loved his church and was a devoted member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family, and his grandchildren, Olivia and Christopher were his greatest joy.

In addition to his wife, Joyce of 53 years, he is survived by his sister, Rhonda Huff of Rutledge, TN, grandchildren, Christopher (Erika) Coop of Columbia, TN Olivia (Spencer Berry) Coop of Nashville, TN, great grandchildren, Remington Miller, Eli Wayne Coop, Christopher Coop, Jr., Briley Ann Coop, brother in law, Jerry Brown, special nephews who were like sons, Jason Helton, David Helton, Jeremy Helton, and Jim and Lon Collier.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Sherry Brewer, Jennifer Brewer, brother, Jimmy Brewer, brothers in law, Roy Huff, Glenn Brown, and sister in law, Patsy Caudill.

Pallbearers will be: Christopher Coop, Tim Coop, Lon Collier, Jim Collier, Jason Helton, David Helton, and Spencer Berry. The members of Faith Freewill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
