Nick Dann - Class Of 1959 VIEW PROFILE

CARL NICK DANN, passed away on October 31, 2017 at the age of 76. He was born on November 11, 1940 to Carl Dann and Geneva Snowden Dann. Nick was born and raised in Eastern, Kentucky graduating from Jenkins High School. He was awarded a full scholarship to The University of Kentucky. Nick was an outstanding athlete in both basketball and football. He graduated from Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky and coached football at Rowan County High School for a short time before changing careers to business and sales. He spent many years umpiring baseball and refereeing basketball games in the central part of Kentucky and also in Florida as well. He also devoted years to coaching Little League Baseball making a tremendous impact on many, many young men while taking his teams to the Championship level. His charismatic personality was a tremendous asset in his career owning automobile business and small engine sales and marketing.
He was an avid woodworking enthusiast and loved working with his hands whether it be in the yard, in his home or with his antique vehicles. He was an avid Collector of many things. He loved things that were different and restoring them to their original beauty.
Nick has been a resident of Eustis, Florida and Ocala, Florida for the past 48 years. He made lifelong friends everywhere he went and was “Loved by All”. He was a joy and an inspiration to everyone who knew him. 
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen Templeman Dann, his Daughter, Kristen Michelle Dann Thornton and her husband, Mike, Grandson, Carter Michael Thornton, Daughter, Nikki Dann Rushka and her husband, Shannon, Grandsons, Christian Mabry, Johnny Bradley and Joshua Bradley, Son, Michael Dann and Granddaughters, Cheyanne Dann and Shay Dann. Nick was predeceased by his Father, Carl Dann and his Mother, Geneva Dann Snowden, his Sister, Michelle Dann Adams, and his Brother, Michael Dann. 
Nick had a very special and Loving relationship with his Sister-in-Law, Donna Templeman Anderson and her husband, Lloyd “Buster” Anderson and his Sister-in-Law, Lois Templeman Anderson and her husband Claude Anderson. They were more his Sisters and Brothers than in- laws. As well as his nephews who he loved dearly, Anthony Anderson, Dwayne Anderson, Paul Anderson, Joe Anderson Dann Adams and their families. He has numerous Nieces and Nephews Who Loved him dearly and added joy and much happiness to his life.
