Truman Conley

May 18, 1928 - October 07, 2019

 J. Truman Conley, age 91, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Hospice of Richmond, Kentucky.  Truman was born on May 18, 1928 to his parents the late Franklin Pierce Conley and Nola Wampler Conley Boggs.  Truman married LaVon Burke Conley on May 8, 1948, they were married for seventy one years.  He was a retired coal miner for Beth Elkhorn Coal Company for thirty two years,  a Deacon at Burdine Freewill Baptist Church and he belonged to the Jenkins Masonic Lodge #856.

     Along with his parents, Truman was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Sergent, and one grandson, John Lester Conley.

     Along with his wife, LaVon, Truman is survived by one son, Jimmy Franklin (Jewel) Conley, one daughter, Neva Jo (David) Bonds, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and a host of loving family and friends.

     Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church.  Church services will be Wednesday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 1p.m. at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church with Greg Polly officiating.  Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Garden at Big Stone Gap, Va.
