Terry Christley “Chris” Cantrell, Jr., age 55, of Burdine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday April 21, 2012. He was born in Jenkins, Kentucky, on July 16, 1956, and was a lifelong resident of the Jenkins area. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator in strip mining and other industries. Chris enjoyed life and made many friends. He had coached elementary school football and basketball. He was a big fan of the University of Kentucky sports programs. He was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Christley Cantrell, Sr.; and a brother, Kyle Edward Cantrell.
Survivors include his mother, Carol Greer Cantrell, Burdine, Kentucky; a daughter, Kristen Cantrell, Norton, Virginia; a son, Terry Christley “Trey” Cantrell III, of Norton, Virginia; a granddaughter, Alyssa Hurley; a sister, Toni Jo Dalyer, Wise, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-9 pm on Monday April 23, 2012, at Polly & Craft Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with Danny Belcher and others, officiating. Interment will follow at the Greer Family Cemetery.
