Grayson Tackett - Class Of 1964

Grayson “Fuzzy” Tackett, age 70, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Greenview Regional Hospital, Bowling Green, Kentucky, due to complications from diabetes. He was born on December 19, 1944 in Jenkins, Kentucky. Mr. Tackett obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He had very sharp business skills, with one example being that he won best salesman at the Case Equipment Dealership. Mr. Tackett had worked in construction for many years and had the distinction of obtaining the rank of Master Plumber. He was born with handicaps, but had the will and determination to not allow this to dictate his life, such as learning how to type with one hand, and this immense willpower has served as an inspiration to family and friends. Mr. Tackett greatly enjoyed hunting, especially rabbits and squirrels, travelling, particularly out west, and watching the University of Kentucky basketball team. He was a person that always wanted to help others and was of the Christian Faith.

He is a son of the late Frank Harvey Tackett and Leitha Ray Tackett. Mr. Tackett was also preceded in death by five siblings, Lexie Ambrose, Grant Tackett, Billy Tackett, Donald “Arnold” Ray Tackett, Thurman “Jay Bird” McKinley Tackett and Patricia Lou Persinger; and an infant brother, Harvey Tackett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Tackett, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two sons, Brian Tackett (Robbie), of Troy Montana, and Tyrone Tackett, of Dade City, Florida; six grandchildren, Grayson Tackett, Greta Tackett, Grace Tackett, Tucker Tackett, Ava Tackett and Titus Tackett; five siblings, Dorsey Smallwood, of Lexington, Kentucky, Selena Sue Gilbert, of London, Kentucky, Mary Nell Frasier, of Marion, Ohio, Jack Tackett, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and James “Chum” F. Tackett (Jeane), of Jenkins, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 26, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 PM at Carty Funeral Homes Polly & Craft Chapel, Jenkins, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held on Friday March 27 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Floyd Johns and Alfred Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Leitha Ray Tackett Cemetery, Burdine, Kentucky.
