Mary "Sissy" Elizabeth Johnson, age 62, of Burdine,
Kentucky, passed away on July 1, 2015 at the
University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center,
Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on December 9,
1952 in Jenkins, Kentucky and was a lifelong resident
of Letcher County, Kentucky. Mary was a homemaker,
who greatly enjoyed cooking and spending time with
her family and friends. She loved gardening and
working with her flowers and she had a big heart for
animals. Mary was of the Pentecostal Faith.
She was a daughter of the late John Litz Puckett and
Bertha Mae Ratliff Puckett.
Mary is survived by her husband, Elijah Johnson, of
Burdine, Kentucky; two sons, John Johnson (Robin), of
Burdine, Kentucky, and Rook Michael Johnson
(Colleen), of Payne Gap, Kentucky; four grandchildren,
Morgan S. Bentley, John Preston Johnson, II., Austin
Kelly Johnson and Dakota Michael Johnson; a greatgrandchild,
Frank Vincent Benedetto, Ill.; two
brothers, Jerry Neil Puckett and Roger Dale Puckett,
both of Jenkins, Kentucky; and a host of other family
and friends.
