Charles Glen Gallion

     Charles Glen Gallion, age 90, of  Jenkins, Kentucky passed from this life  on  November 28, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville Kentucky. He was born on August 6, 1926 in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Jim Gallion and Mattie Mullins Gallion. He was a Gospel Minister for over sixty- three years and a member of the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church. As a U.S.  W.W. II Veteran, he  served honourably in the United States Marine Corps. He was known by most people as “Slick” Gallion.

   He was also preceded in death by one son, Charles “Jeff” Gallion; six brothers and three sisters.

    Mr. Gallion is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Loretta Jo Mullins Gallion; one son, Roddy (Susan F.) Gallion of Jenkins, Kentucky; three daughters, Lana (William) Preston of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Ruth (George) Collins of Pikeville, Kentucky and JoNeil Gallion (Barry) Sanders of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister, Hazel Ratliff of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Carl “Jake” Gallion of Jenkins, Kentucky. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of family and many friends to mourn his passing.

   Visitation for Mr. Gallion will be held on Wednesday-November 30, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday-December 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church with ministers, Brother Hollis Bevins and Brother Luther Belcher officiating.
