JENKINS, KY – Ralph Patton Whitaker, Jr, 76, passed away at his residence Friday September 17, 2021 after a courageous battle with multiple health issues.

Ralph was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a retired insurance agent with Farm Bureau Insurance. Ralph earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Clinch Valley College while also completing his teaching certificate. Pat was an avid golfer and a very accomplished billiards player. He loved to travel and was known to enjoy a cold one on occasion. Pat was very witty and had a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger.

  Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Anna (Evanoff) Whitaker.

  Survivors include his son Patrick Whitaker-Jenkins, KY; his first wife Cathy Neal; his second wife Sheila Wright; step-daughters Miranda Wright and Kelly Wright; and a host of family, friends and loved ones.

  Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday September 23, 2021 in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with H C Morris speaking and Reverend Randall Branham officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of services.

  Entombment will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum-Big Stone Gap, VA.
