Lenville Jones

JONES, Lenville V. "Len" Passed away February 22, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cromona, Kentucky on May 28, 1935 to the late Troy and Amanda (LeQuire) Jones. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Len retired from Cascade Corporation and Honda at Marysville then worked at Jackson Hewitt during tax season for ten years. Len was a lover of sports, following his beloved University of Kentucky, the Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Browns. Not just a spectator, he loved golf and had two Holes in One to his credit. Although he scored a total of 15 straight strikes in bowling, it was over two games and he ended up with a high score of 297. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, whether in Canada, local lakes or the Ohio River during the "family and friends camping era." He enjoyed his many travels and family vacations which included Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, Caribbean Cruises and Islands, the Grand Canyon, the West Coast and many East Coast beaches. But his most rewarding trip was taking his daughter and granddaughter to Disney World. Len was a quiet man who inspired lifelong friendships both in Kentucky and Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jeanette Brewer, Velma Kadel, Louise Holmes and Brenda Hamilton and brother Denson Jones. He is survived by his wife, anchor and mainstay Betty (Pratt) "B.J." Jones, daughter Sheryl Bishop, granddaughter Bronwyn Bishop, his in-laws, nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. We wish to thank Doctor Daljeet Singh for his kind and devoted care, Dr. Michael McKee, Dr. Faiq Akhter, Surgeon Dr. Bruce Rank and the many angels who masquerade as nurses, especially those at the Springfield Cancer Center. Funeral services will be held at LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME, 830 N. Limestone Street, Springfield, Ohio 45503 at Noon Monday 26th with visitation on Sunday, Feb.25th from 3-5 p.m.
