Betty Hunsaker - Class Of 1958

Betty June Hunsaker, age 78, a well known resident of Jenkins, Kentucky and former Jenkins Community Hospital administrator, passed from this life at the Whitesburg Appalachain Regional Hospital on Sunday, August  25, 2019. She was born on September 22, 1940 in Kopperston, West Virginia.  She was a graduate of the Jenkins High School and the East Tennessee State University. Ms. Hunsaker was a member of the Jenkins Methodist Church and also served as the secretary & treasurer of the Old Jenkins High School Restoration Committee.  She was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.

    She was preceded in death by her parents: James Clifton Hunsaker and Mildred Zollie Buchanan Hunsaker;  one brother, Teddy James Hunsaker and by a canine companion, “Baby”.

     Survivors include: one sister, Peggy Greer (Paul) of Jenkins, Kentucky; one brother, Curtis Ray Hunsaker (Margaret) of Abingdon, Virginia; several nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and great-great nieces/nephews; along with a host of other family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jenkins Methodist Church.

   Visitation for Ms. Hunsaker will be held at the Polly & Craft Funeral Home of Jenkins, Kentucky from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

   Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 immediately following visitation with Jim Polly officiating. 

   Graveside services will be held at the Baker Cemetery on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.
