Charlene Annetta Collins

Charlene Annetta Collins, 82, died August 25 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.

Born in McRoberts to the late Willard “Pete” and Lillie Parker Collins, she was the widow of James Collins.

She grew up across the road from her future husband, and they moved to Tennessee, Michigan and Indiana. Upon his death she moved back to McRoberts.

Mrs. Collins was a sister of the late Clyde “Peewee” Collins and Cleo “Dean” Bartley, and an aunt of the late Denise “Suzie” Litton.

Surviving are a sister, Cheryl Gibson and husband James of Lily; a brother, Clifford “Coopie” Collins and wife Betty of McRoberts; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Gibson, Julie Collins, and Donna Collins, all of McRoberts; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Collins were held September 7 at the Fleming Church of God in Neon. Burial was in the McRoberts Cemetery.
