David Michael Barker , age 70, of  Middlesboro, Kentucky (formerly of McRoberts) passed from this life  on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Pikeville, Kentucky. He was born to his late parents: David Merrell and Emma Jean Ferguson Barker on February 22, 1949 at McRoberts, Kentucky. Mr. Barker served our country honorably in the United States Army and was a member of the Fleming-Neon American Legion. He was also an avid U.K. sports fan.

     Survivors include his loving wife of forty-six years, Ruth Ann Clem Barker; three daughters: Chastity Bolling (Larry) of Kimper, Kentucky, Lisa Maria Berry (Jackie) of Harrogate, Tennessee and Misty Renee Barker (Brian) of Jenkins, Kentucky;  six grandchildren: Christopher, Paul, Brittany, Chase, Emilee and Kyra; one great grandson, Drake Alexander Hall; two sisters: Merrell Jean Fleming (Chuck) of Rutledge, Tennessee and Rita Susan Johnson (Bill) of Hazard, Kentucky; along with a host of other family and many friends.

   The Barker family wishes to express appreciation to the Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center staff and management for their excellent care.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Polly & Craft Funeral Home Chapel of Jenkins from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM; with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Slone officiating.

    Inurnment will take place at a later date.
