David Bruce Johnson, 51, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was an employee of Lowes of Wise County. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching his daughter compete in archery matches. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Bruce Johnson. David was a Christian and loved his Lord Jesus Christ. 

He is survived by his wife, Gayla Wiles Johnson of Wise, Va.; his daughter, Alyssa Grace “Sis” Sturgill of Wise, Va.; a brother, Scott Allen Johnson of McRoberts, KY; a sister, Lori Lynn Holbrook and her husband Kevin of Parkers Lake, KY; nephews and great nephews; his mother, Helen Davis Johnson; and his fur baby, Maggie. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Corey Holbrook officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday at the Robinette Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:30 am to travel in procession to the cemetery.
