Marty Carter - Class Of 1975

Albert Martin “Marty” Carter, 65, entered peacefully into eternity Saturday November 13, 2021 from his residence. His loving wife Denita was at his side.

Marty was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Marty was a big truck driver, he would haul coal, rock or almost anything, local or cross country. He enjoyed riding his Harley every chance he got. He loved rock and roll concerts and saw some of the biggest act of all time, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and Michael Jackson. Marty was an avid UK Wildcat fan, basketball and football. He was a Dale Earnhardt Fan and enjoyed watching sports, weather and news. He was ready for a party anytime. “He was a one of a kind-there will never be another Mardo” Marty was best known to his grandkids as “Pop-Pop” and treasured the time he spent with them.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee and Bertha (Dingus) Carter and his son, Michael Wayne Hayes. Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years Denita Carter- Burdine, KY; his daughters Martie Nicole Carter-Stamper and husband Bobby–Pikeville, KY, Kelli Elizabeth Carter-Alley and husband Kyle-Prestonsburg, KY, Lindsey Omega Carter-Flamm and husband Gavin-Las Vegas, NV and Amanda Lee Carter and husband Justin Castello-Shelby Gap, KY ; grandchildren Skyler, Kolton and Graci Stamper, Bryce and Sayler Alley; Charlee and Bradley Carter Flamm, Michael Wayne Hayes, Jr.; Scarlett Castello and Baby Boy Castello ( due in February); a sister Jerry Lee Elswick and husband Jim-Jenkins, KY; nieces Lisa Brennen and Tracy Short; and a host of friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends after 5:00 pm and services will take place at 7:00 pm Tuesday November 16, 2021 at the Burdine Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Polly officiating. Baker Funeral Home-Pound, VA is serving the family of
