Tommy Canaday - Class Of 1974

Thomas Canaday, 67, died April 20. A 1974 graduate of Jenkins High School, he was born in Cambridge, Ohio to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lee Thomas Canaday.

Canaday worked as a mechanic at Kennedy Auto Sales of Wise, Virginia and at Ilderton Dodge in Highpoint, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Annie L Brock Canaday. Other survivors include his mother, Esther Gay Fehrman Canaday; a stepson, Daniel Phillips Jr.; three step grandchildren, Brittney Hollingsworth, Jacob Phillips, and Megan Pickett and a step great granddaughter Evance Lawson, all of Oklahoma; a sister, Tamara Canaday, and a brother, Timothy Canaday, both of Jenkins; and a nephew, Joel Matthew Canaday of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father.

Thomas never had any biological children but lovingly raised many: Alyssa and Lucas Brock, Kylie Martin and Ava and Anthony Green as though they were his own.

The memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Friday at Lost Creek Ministries in Norton and will be open to friends and family. The address is 420 Lost Creek Drive, SW, Norton, VA 24273.
