George Edward Bevins, 74, of Jenkins, died May 1 at Hazard Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center.

A son of the late George Washington and Carrie Jane Elswick Bevins, he was the widower of Patsy Faye Bevins.

Surviving are two daughters, Melanie Baker and husband Shad and Emily Bevins and Jimmy Wright, all of Jenkins; a brother, Robert Bevins of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Alyssa Baker, Alexis Mullins, Landon Mullins, and Kennedy Wright.

He was preceded in death by a son, George Bevins.

Funeral services were held May 5 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.
