It is with profound sadness to inform the Class of '58 of the passing of Tom Oakland. He died in his home in Gainesville, Florida Wednesday morning. Tom was the life blood of this class never missing a class reunion and touching base with former classmates when he came to Kenosha. Tom took his resposibility of Class President even after graduation. Our class was unique because of Tom's involvement and support. A memorial service for Tom will be held sometime in spring, here in Kenosha.I will share the date with the class when available.

It was so sad to hear of Tom's passing. I knew him since we were children. He lived around the corner from me and we went all through school together. I last saw him at our 55th class reunion. Always a great MC and spoke to each and everyone of us. Rest in peace dear friend. Judy Testard Bauer

Tom and I played football together at Lincoln Jr. High School but unfortunately the boys from McKinley and Washington always beat us...Tom and I were also hall monitors at Lincoln and I remember Tom as a personable guy that had a smile and a great sense of humor...I had a nice talk with Tom at the last reunion and I will always remember that...Tom was the kind of person that will be remembered by all.

Our President is gone, but we will never forget him. I guess one problem he had was being to kind. He never had a harsh word for anyone and always had time for everyone. We saw the other side of Tom at our last reunion. He was extremely funny, but serious at the same time. He is irreplaceable and will be sadly missed by all.

Tom was a lovely man. I am devastated by his passing. Too soon. Too soon. Now I only have my memories of him-- he was my Junior Prom King, and we always shared a dance at every reunion-- I'll never forget him. Our reunions won't be the same without him.

It is difficult for me to understand such violence. My prayers go out to his family and friends. A lovely man taken to soon and in such a cruel manner. Katie Arneson FreemanBetty Makarewicz (Meisenheimer)
Some people go through life and make a difference. And our Tom did just that. Rest in peace dear soul. Sob!

Tom was always a favorite of mine. Friendly, kind, pleasant, etc. All the good adjectives will always follow him.

My Dearest Tom was murdered one month ago yesterday. His home which he truly loved was torched and his beautiful self burned beyond recognition. I told him in 2013 to discontrinue this extortion from the panhandler as he would eventually be harmed. He was two years later.
All this was and is so unfortunate. The weekend prior to his murder, we went to see the "jersey Boys' performace, and to church and the gym on Sunday. He was murdered Wednesday about 12 noon.
Horrendous loss for all of us.
Nancy
I love and loved him dearly.
