Richard Cunningham uploaded a scanned copy of an 8x10, class picture of the Stanton Elementary School Kindergarden class, April 1951. I guess anybody can access it? Let me know if you can't, I will try to figure out if I need to do something else. I gave it the number "1", if that means anything. Such famous characters as Bruce Dudley, Judy Zook, Pattsi Hidalgo, etc are sitting peacefully on the class rug, listening to Miss White. Richard
Bonnie Hillmer has posted some old postcards of the Laramie area. Brings back a lot of memories. Thanks Bonnie. Richard Cunningham posted a picture of a Kindergarten class at Stanton School as did Beverly Duncan Wagner. Thanks Richard. Check them out as there are some of the kids we can't identify and would like to be able to name them all.
Wow! Just finished looking at the old post cards that Bonnie Hillmer posted! Absolutely amazing! They sure pull at your heart strings. Love those old cars! Thanks for posting those, Bonnie! And those classroom photos mentioned above are great too! What a cute bunch of kids! Eh, er... senior citizens now! haha.
What a teriffic way to be able to communicate with all of you. I add my thanks to anyone that had anything to do with setting up this site.
Since I have your attention, I was wondering how many of my old classmates may be friends of Bill W. or Dr. Bob. I know of at least one but expect with the odds there are more. It would be fun if you would contact me. Thanks.
Thanks to those of you putting messages on here. I'm hoping we can get a real dialogue going. Welcome to Marilyn Garcia Navarette. We're now at 69 classmates. Yeah!!!! Just heard from another classmate that she has found one of our missing classmates. Hopefully, we will have another addition to our numbers. Beverly
WOW!!! Two more new classmates have signed on: Mary Payne Crum and June Vialpando Moore. That makes 71. Yeah!!!!! Have you noticed the senior pictures have been added? Hope so.
Check out a picture that Ken Griffin recently added to his profile. Did you notice the senior pictures have been added? Sorry to say there are some that weren't in the 1963 yearbook. Maybe I can find something in the previous years. Hope everyone is well.
This is to inform you of the passing of Linda Gaskins in 2008. Thanks to Bonnie Hillmer for finding the information, and also to Jim Hamilton for locating it in the Greeley, CO newspaper.
Welcome to Linda Burwick, #73. So glad to have her aboard. Also received this website from Jim Hamilton. It's great--old Laramie photos plus other Wyoming sites. www.wyomingtalesandtrails.com/photos6a.html. Check it out. It's great!!!
Just found a donut shop here in Fort Myers that reminded us of the Spudnut Shop. Fond memories of that place--'specially when we were in Jr. High. Easier access. Too bad it's gone.
A big "Thank You" today for all of you that are Veterans of the Armed Forces. You did so much for all of us and you deserve more than we can possibly say or do. A special remembrance today for Stan Holloway. What a great guy! May he rest in peace. Again, thank you and God Bless each of you. Bruce
This message has been sent from dhdudley2@yahoo.com. David Dudley, Bruce's brother. You can reply directly to him at the above address or through this message forum.
Since those of us grew up with our siblings' friends, had classes with some of them, played sports with some and worked with others, as well as dated some, I am interested in those in your '63 class.
Just got back in town and got the news about Stan. What a loss of a real American hero. I wish I would have known more about him while he was still alive so I could have honored him. I read his accomplishments with awe. What a guy. I am proud to be a classmate of his. I have thought of him and his family often today. May he rest in peace. God bless veterans like him and God bless America. Ken
Bill Hoyt was selected as the South Big Horn Basin Music District Teacher of the Year at the All-State music conference in January! As the recipient of this recognition, Bill is now up for the Wyoming Music Education Association's Teacher of the Year award! Congratulations, Bill!!!
Way to go, Bill!!! Good to see an educator getting some recognition. Hope you win many more awards. Hey, anyone remember Rich Twidwell? That guy drove down to Phoenix from Flagstaff a few days ago. We had some Mexican food and chatted. That guy looks just like he did in 1963 and is into all kinds of interesting activities.
this past weekend was Jubilee Days again, brought back memories from last year when we were all together. We really must have a 50th!! I am glad to see so many people have signed on to this site, helps keep up with what is going on in everyone's lives.
Now that we are approaching that magic age of 65, some sooner than others, just wondering what the rest of you are thinking about medicare plans; which one, how soon to sign up and if there is even going to be a medicare requirement seeing what this crappy (being nice) administration is now trying to push through with it's health care plans. Seems to me that there is not going to be much in it, or at least not for very long, for us aging folks.
Just wondering how many others out there that will turn or have tunred 65 this year and have a cost associated with medicare. I worked hard in Alaska for 25 years, and as part of my retirement, have what this administration calls a "cadillac" medical plan, meaning no cost to me except deductible, and now get a notice in the mail that I will have to pay over $110 a month out of my small (Alaska had it's own retiremtnt plan) SS benifit check. So the idea of having medical coverage from the government takes away from my gross income as I get older? What a wonderful system. Wonder what the new system is going to do to me (us)?
