Duane E., 67, of Laramie died Saturday April 14, 2012, at Laramie Care Center. He was born Nov. 4, 1944, in Laramie, the son of Elwood and Edna (Seaton) Hanson. Being raised in Laramie, he graduated from Laramie High School and had worked for the gas company in Laramie for a time, before moving to California. He moved to Fremont, Calif. and began working for General Motors in their assembly plant, later he went to work for Toyota in their assembly plant. While in California he lived in several different homes, having one built, selling it and building another to live in. This was his form of investing for the future, and last lived in Paradise, Calif. before returning to Laramie in 2010. Over the years he had a hobby of rebuilding a 1927 Dodge Coupe, an accomplishment he was quite proud of.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law June Hanson.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Atkinson and her husband, Lawrence and a brother, Don Hanson, all of Laramie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home with pastor Dennis Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
