Cal Kenneth ‘Ken’ Hull

Posted: Saturday, December 5, 2015 5:00 am

Cal Kenneth “Ken” Hull, of Laramie, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Son of Jack and Blanche Hull, Ken was born July 10, 1944. He retired in 1980 as a real estate broker and spent his younger years skiing, biking and running.

His second wind came when he met his wife Georgia. They spent the next 12 years motorcycling, exploring the United States, Europe and Japan and traveling to visit children. Ken was a loving father and grandfather to his and Georgia’s children and grandchildren — always there to support and advise each of them.

On the lighter side, Ken’s days were filled with adventure as he could be found attending daily coffee club, cleaning, dusting, doing laundry and watering his beloved plants. He spent his afternoons on the Lazy Boy watching Fox News and enjoying a Foster’s beer. His one and only regret would be he wasn’t able to live long enough to cast his vote for Donald Trump. Ken will be missed by those that love him. His salty (and somewhat sarcastic) sense of humor and kind heart brightened the lives of those around him.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his wife Georgia Carmin; daughter Brownell (Scott and grandson McKay) Colby; son Chandler (Kaurina) Hull; brothers, Keith (Amanda) Hull, Dave (Connie) Hull and Casey (Dawn) Hull; aunt Jane (Joe) Giovannini; and stepchildren, Robynn (Dan) Levene, Jay (Anna) Palmer and Brian (Catherine) Palmer; and grandchildren Kayle, Paige, Sierra, Ryan, Brandon, Kolby, Grace, Charlotte, Amelia, Landon and Zoey.

In keeping with the wishes of Ken, there will be no funeral services.

This obituary is from the Laramie Boomerang.

Ken and I were good friends through our high school years. Kind of lost tract of him after 1963. He enjoyed coming out to the ranch and helping out once in a while and even took enough interest in livestock to become an AG student his senior year and joined the FFA. Went on with his life after high school and did well.

Getting harder each year to realize just how short life is and it hurts to see this happen to people who are your same age and you have shared times in the past with. Seems like just a few years ago that we were sitting in a brand new beautiful High School in Laramie and looking out any window that faced North or East and there wasn't housing to see, just open prairie. Now that building is being replaced.

The years will continue to march on and we will all one day, reach this same end. Brings a new meaning every time I see this happen to us, that tomorrow is very uncertain and what ever plans we have need to be for today. With yesterday so vivid in my mind and tomorrow so far out of my control, I will live for today and hope for tomorrow.

May God rest Your Soul, Kenneth Hull

Ken and I had a Rock Springs connection long before I moved to Laramie.  Hadn't seen him since '83.  I was saddened to learn that he had passed away.

We moved to Laramie when I was five and lived on Grand Ave, across the street from Kens family. His mother Blanche and my mother Nellie became forever best friends.

I clearly remember the tragic bow and arrow accident, but I also fondly remember  the winter picnics and sledding parties we had when we all went to to mountains to cut our Christmas trees.  Through our Mothers, we kept a distant--connection for many years.
